Space Weather Enterprise Forum 2010 - Washington, DC, June 8

The Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology-sponsored National Space Weather Program Council will hold the fourth Space Weather Enterprise Forum (SWEF) on June 8, 2010 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The theme for the forum this year is, “Building an Informed and Resilient Society – the Decade Ahead.”

The SWEF brings together policymakers, senior government leaders, researchers, service provider agencies, private sector service providers, information users, media, and legislators in the space weather community to share information and raise awareness of space weather and its effects on society. The focus this year will center on examining critical infrastructure protection, support, and resiliency in the face of potential space weather-driven disasters. Additional discussion topics will include recent advances and progress in space weather research and operations, the future of space weather science and transitioning research results into operations, and international activities and cooperation.

Members of the media are invited to participate in all aspects of the conference, including the reception to follow at 5:00 pm.
