Older men, once they get over 40 or so tend to start looking at very young women. Older women on the other hand like men their age. Lots of times young guys in their 20s date women in their 30s, but once those guys get older they start to want the young ones. I think it has something to do with loss of testosterone.

Ah, not so.

I've dated nothing but younger men since my divorce at age 37. The biggest age difference was when I was 45 and he was 22.

I don't go actively looking for anyone, much less younger men, it just happens that way. I'm currently 51 and seeing both a 42 year old and a 36 year old.

And sorry guys, generally speaking (though there are many fine exceptions to the rule), most men my age are out of shape couch potatoes that need viagra.

I'm 41 and would have ZERO interest in dating someone that young. Honestly, I probably wouldn't even consider dating anyone younger than 40. I seem to gravitate towards guys that are 8 years older than I am. Not sure why that age gap and I don't ask age up front. But, the ones I have always gotten along with the best - both in relationships as well as general friendships - have been that magical 8 year age gap.

I love older women.

They're a lot more fun than teeny bopper 20 year old chicks.

I had one 38 year old women beg me to suck her toes when I was 25, now that was fun.

I don't get a chance to do that fun & kinky stuff with the drunken sluts who are in their 20's. It's not as enjoyable.

Re: Would a mature woman date a 22 year old guy if they had the chance?
As one of the women stated earlier in this thread: I can only speak for myself.

I am 40 years old and when it comes to dating I generally select women younger than myself. Granted, I would be lying if I said that physical attraction played no part in it. However, the primary reason is, well, to be blunt: The vast majority of stable, intelligent, beautiful and baggage-free women my age are already spoken for and I don't do the adultery thing.

I am not saying "all women my age are crap" by any stretch of the statement. Please, I pray no one come at me with attacks under the assumption that I've said anything of the like.

However, I date a lot. I date women of all ages and sadly, the vast majority (not all, thankfully) of women I've dated that are 30+ are angry and bitter due to some jackass that came before me. No offense to any of them, but I'm too old to spend a decade proving I'm not their ex just to find out whether we're compatible or not.

I spent the majority of my adult life raising my children (and an ex's daughter that wasn't my own biological offspring) alone and dealing with "I don't date single dad's, I ain't got no time for baby-momma drama". Once my kids were raised and I was able to finally get past that hurdle now I'm having to consider that I might have missed the boat.

Not that I mind being single or anything, but it really would be nice to find a wife that accepts me for me, and not the me her ex taught her I must be.

Ugh, didn't mean to rant.
 Quoting: Phydeau

I don't understand women who won't date men with kids. I actually prefer it. They are more stable and settled. I'd much rather date a man with kids than one who IS the kid.

Of course they would they would use him like a dildo then toss him aside the slimy selfish parasites.

I am the same one who just posted about my relationship with the 22 year old. Our sexual relationship is good, yet really theres no difference vs. the men I have dated at my own age. Like I said before its all a mind set.

If men can date younger women and make marriages work, then women can do the same.

By saying that it is okay for women to date older men for love but not for younger men to do, is like saying men are vain and aren't capable of loving a woman for who they are. All men are not shallow.

When i was younger i slept with a couple of older women, i had no interest in dating them at all to be honest - much to their disappointment but why would i? They were too old for me and it was just an easy lay. I think cougars are deluding themselves if they think that young men are going to stick around for anything more than sex, one turned out to be a right stalker haha. Lesson learnt there and after that i stuck to hiing on women my own age.

So in my experience, some older women will want more than sex.

Not a chance in hell, not if she is genuine in her heart and mind, which is hopefully, the reason you want her...

There are SO many changes that happen in life, between 22 and 40+.....Leave it alone, stay in the time of life that you are and move with that,,,,stay real...

Re: Would a mature woman date a 22 year old guy if they had the chance?
I can only speak for myself, and I'm a 41 year old woman.

I definitely would NOT be interested in dating someone in their 20's. I've got a 20 year old daughter, as well as a 14 and 13 yr old. I have been heavily invested in my children since their births, and do not care to take on another adult child, even if it would be for "fun".

It is my opinion that women (and men) who do find interest in the younger (often times MUCH younger) severely lack in self-discipline, self-esteem, security, and are fearing growing old. Myself, I am growing old gracefully and contently.

I find it very disturbing that someone much older would seek out someone much younger. If it happened solely by chance, without ANY intentions of it happening, that would be different, but purposeful seeking of a much younger mate is only another marker to detect where we are in our sick society (imho).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 997526

Seriously.
You're 40.
You are content to grow old gracefully.
50 years of being alone growing old gracefully.
You don't want to go out and have fun or make love all night or listen to music or go hiking with a guy?
That is what younger guys do that older guys do not.
Eating at a restaurant and watching TV for 50 years is just not my cup of tea !
Being alone every night reading novels has never been fun to me !
Do people ever get skin hunger, or only us sensitive ones?
9 years of celibacy and loneliness can really make one think about what one is missing. I'm not afraid to grow old, I am tired of being treated like I'm old.
peace.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 954745

You're not doing celibacy right, probably you aren't effectively replacing the procreative urge with another type of procreative urge.

If you were, then after nine years, you'd only be thinking about what non-celibates are missing.

Maybe true. Relationships just happen, you don't plan for them. Its all about compatibility and if your after the same thing. I have never had a problem with getting into relationship or a one nighter its all about personal choice. I have dated my age, younger and 20 years older when I was in my 20s, age is irrelevant, unless you are superficial. I have had my one nighters and I am very secure with who I am, but if the man no matter what the age, isnt interested in dating aand getting to know me, then fine, not my match....next....whatever

It's a very sexually compatible match. Women are in their prime in their 40's and are hot to trot. Males are in their sexual prime at around 20...It works and is a hell of a ride...for both parties. Women should take the plunge before they hit menopause and become old, dry, wrinkled prunes...

It happens all the time with young men. It is a growing experience for them to touch and feel the mature woman. And by nature or by design it usually doesnt last very long. So spare us the generalized morality tale that has no relevance whatsoever,,,

Re: Would a mature woman date a 22 year old guy if they had the chance?
I'm 42 with a lot of life left. I agree that age is just a number. It's all about how you feel. Unfortunately, I'm married to a man who's three years older than me and acts like he's ten years older than me:( He has a very negative outlook on life anymore and it seems that all I hear out of him is how the glass in his life is half empty. I try to listen and to reassure, but it seems to do no good. I try to tell him that he is the only one who can change his circumstances if he's so unhappy and that no one else can do it for him. Even though he understands this, he seems to prefer to wallow in his misery. He is sexually disfunctional and has been for a few years now. I'm lucky if it happens once a month. It's not been over 3 mo. and he had to be reminded that it'd been that long. I try to take care of things myself, but sometimes a woman wants, no scratch that, NEEDS to be with a man! Is that too much to ask. I take good care of myself, eat right and am often mistaken for being in my 30's.

We're coming up on 24 years together next month and lately I'm wondering if that's all we're meant to have together. I strongly believe in sticking things out and making good on my commitment to him, but he's let me down so many times. And not just sexually. Long story. I have been wanting one last child before I go through the change. He doesn't and no matter how hard I try to convince him how much this means to me, he just doesn't seem to get it. He think's I'm just going through a phase.

Goodness...guess I needed to vent too! But the thing of it is, even if we eventually go our separate ways. I couldn't be with a younger man. My own son will be 22 this year and my two daughters will be 24 and 25. Regardless, I've always preferred older men. I'm attracted to the Alpha male who knows how to handle himself and his woman with self confidence and knows exactly what he wants in life and how to go about getting it.

Unfortunately...I didn't know this about myself when I married my husband fresh out of high school. Don't get me wrong...my husband has a lot of very good qualities and we've spent many years together. I consider him to be my best friend, I'm just missing that oh so important husband part of him. If that makes any sense??

I think mature women (40+) sometimes want to feel younger so that they feel better about themselves. I know a 40 year old women who dated a friend of mine who was 20 at the time, but she was a diva let me tell you haha..

for my experiences, iv never dated a women thats older than me, maybe a year or 2 tops but thats it... but i can tell you older women always check me out... im 23 btw......

Not me! I have kids around that age & that would be Creepy as hell.
That being said ~ I was married to a guy who was younger than me & we stayed together 11 years.

Since I have been dating again ~ I mostly get hit on by men around 35 or so. It's hard to just go by age ~ common interests & Life experience are Top Priorities to me. They also have to enjoy actually doing things & not eat junk food too much. A healthy body makes for better stamina ~ that's not specific to age.

Plenty of cougars, but don't be sad when we act cynical and don't take you seriously. Find the right one.
I personally would love to go back to the guys I knew when I was 20, they were more real, easy going, talented, etc. These guys my age don't want me, firstly. But secondly, I do not want them, they have no talent or ambition or joy of life or excitement or sexual energy or fun, they have a big shiny truck and a big shiny head and nothing else.

Being in the middle of the road at 30 I will speak for both parties. 40 yr old women: any age women can get a twenty year old guy if they put themselves on the market as easy. Guys want sex. 18-104, end of story. 20 year old guys: You are the ones that have the luxury of being choosey, not the older women who think its because they are experienced. They just want an ego pet. It doesnt matter if you pet it, or they pet it by believing they can still get any yungun' they want. Women only like sex for the ego boost. That's why there are so many cougars. Also women, don't say I don't know what I'm talking about, you know I'm right.bsflag

If you knew many older women you would know that most would jump at the chance of dating a younger man! I am older myself but look and act much younger and can relate far more to younger men. Funnily enough the younger men try really hard to impress as well. The older men I have come into contact with are dirty old men with dirty (as in unclean) being the operative word. They are also very set in their ways and beliefs and a lot are mysoginists. They do not know the meaning of the word respect whereas their younger counterparts do. Sexually, younger men are so much more willing to please and eager to learn. They also have better bodies and make effort to keep in shape and look and smell good!
My friends also agree and even the married ones have said that shoud they become single in the future they would be more likely to date a younger man.
The comment about testosterone levels is completely untrue. Women's sex drives get stronger as they get older and we are more comfortable with who we are. Having the attentions of a young hot male only makes it stronger. Whatever preconceived ideas you have about older women are unfounded I hasten to add!

No, not even close. I stopped dating under 25 when I was in my thirties.

I'm not even sexually attracted, they're like sweet, innocent children when they're that young.

Besides, if you're over 40 and still in the market, why would you waste your time on someone who has so little to offer? Someone that young has a lot of developing to do before they can be a serious relationship candidate. And if you're still avoiding serious relationships at 40, you're not gowing.
