Dude I'm in the PNW and mine have been ringing like crazy for 2 days.

You know, I really have to start paying attention to my ears... they were ringing pretty loudly a while ago.

My equilibrium has been "off" all evening...I kept feeling like an earthquake was going to happen or was happening (had the feeling for about 1.5 hours before quake) weird. I'm about 70 miles west of the epicenter.

We've been having a lot of earthquakes here in SD and I've been having a lot of ear tones lately.

I've never heard of that being related... until I just read this thread.

Ear tones? I figured it was some years playing in a punk band and studio recordings (loud headphones). I've worried about losing my hearing because I love music and heard Beethoven used to get all those tones before he went deaf.

...but it was getting worse lately and we've been having more EQs here where I live.

Maybe you are to something. I'd appreciate any more info on that.

I am in NJ and my ears were ringing, does this mean a earthquake around here?

I had one in my right ear as well earlier. Weird. I get them every once in a while - I'll definitely start checking for EQ after I have them from now on!

I am in Florida... I've had these tones for a long time now, can usually predict within 80% accuracy for at least a 5.0 or better. Will post all eartones on GLP for confirmation.

Shit, Im in Florida too and had a huge left eartone about 330 yesterday. Wrote a note that there might be an earthquake...

My tone was at about 7pm, CST. Saturday night had tones in both ears lasting 30 seconds, at approx 645pm CST, then India Quake of over 7.0 hit.

i usually think you guys are crazier than shit house rats when i hear this but lately i have had this in my ears and i never have this shit happen. it sounds like a tone for so many seconds. something is going on. unless my alien transceiver inside my nasal cavity is on the blink...

WTF is going on?

I heard one the other day .The longest tone I have had ever .It lasted say 30sec's then there was a secondary tone for another thirty that was an unusually disturbing scree! sound .Now i think of it, it coinsided with the Japan's probe re-entry.Maybe some of these high tones some of us pick up on are asteroids/space junk entering our atmosphere ,I can imagine metals at such velocities encountering friction and turbulence would quite probably resonate at high pitch and be heard by us on the ground. So if we are hearing something as big as a car coming in and its common to hear of quakes a few hours after the tone,( shock wave's traveling slowly through earth after impact). It might be time we started listening out for the low frequency sounds usually associated with quakes .
