Just bought a set of GMRS radios (walkie talkies)....but you have to have an FCC license for this shit????

GMRS radios require a license to use:

No you don't need a license. As long as you don't missuse the radios usually you're not allowed to cuss. Even then who's going to track you down to give you a summons.

FCC doesn't go after anyone who isn't causing problems for TV or radio broadcasters.

if they're not going after CB radio folks with 500 watt amplifiers, they'll never even think about your walkie talkies.

Channels 1-7 are 'shared' with FRS.
Channels 8-14 are FRS only.
Channels 15-22 are GMRS only.

Stay off 15-22 without a license...

this is true here in the states

the manual also says to stay off 1-7 without a license....

and by the way, YES, they can find you through "triangulation" just like they can find you on your CELL PHONE within 10 seconds....
