No, I didn't. But I lost my family. I have lived my life without family. I was a foster kid several times in my life.
I could have been put with my father's parents, who were pretty normal, sane people. But I wasn't. I was given to whack jobs instead. I experienced more violence and abuse in foster care, than I did with the violent abusers who were my family.
Children die often in foster care-- even more are horribly abused in it. But nobody seems to care about THAT.
It's disgusting that family is more important to the person without it, than it is to people who have it!

The services involved with the family, even before the woman was pregnant, did nothing, and look at the end result?
The older child was doused in white spirits, she was about to die as well.
This woman had problems going back many years, and nothing was done, perhaps because of similar attitudes to what you show here.
That anything is better than a foster home, which in this case a foster home would have possibly kept this child alive.
