Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1008681Haha, indeed. Mass panic among Walmart faithfuls everywhere will ensue. Then once a carbon tax goes into effect, lo and behold, their beloved prices for shitty chemical-laden crap might go up a fraction of a cent or, more likely, will stay the same. FEAR. |

There is always that 25-30% out there that are utter fucking children with no common sense. This is a bad idea and people will be major pissed when they find out how it's going to be. Use your damn commons sense. Quoting: Johnny RingoI hope that all the damage these progressive liberals have caused can be repealed. That's why they are in a hurry, I guess. They want it all done before the next elections this November. There might be a major turnover esp. in the House, and the House might do something like revote their Cap'n'Trade bill. That would knock the props out from under it. Whereas if it's all done before then, it would take the Senate too to undo it, and the Senate changes slowly. |

What you just said amounts to empty fearmongering. BP has the largest carbon footprint in history ...It keeps getting bigger too. Quoting: Frigg StuyvesantThey should pay all of it.. Forever That would be great! Ironic, isn't it though? Some of the same people who hate BP are also against taxing destructive manufacturing practices. They're trained at the "Alex Jones School of Moranic Conspiracies & FUD" to think pollution is just fine and that a carbon tax is some how a personal form of punishment and that anything the gov't does is an evil conspiracy that will land them in slave camps -- just like these regressive industries want you to believe. Convenient. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1008561 United States 06/19/2010 04:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good, a carbon tax is long overdue. Quoting: The KiteOne of the only effective ways to push business away from being dependent on hazardous, polluting forms of energy like oil and coal is to associate a market/monetary penalty with such activity. Taxing it will one of the biggest catalysts in an industry choosing the path of safer energy versus what we have now -- which, currently, is causing the US fall far behind countries like Germany and even China. Leave it to the doom & hyper-conspiracy fear-mongers to not understand that this affects industry (in a good way). Next up: I'd like to see some protectionist and fair trade policies come into play, so we can start buying and manufacturing goods made in the USA again, as well as not subsidizing (i.e. giving away money to) companies that exploit labor and/or offshore their jobs. Do you realize that C&T will cause more companies to move the remaining manufacturing to another country that does not have C&T and lower wages. This will kill what is left of our MFG base ... I guess we need more people asking if you want "paper or plastic" of would you like to "supersize" your order mam. |

TapeWorm User ID: 926799 Canada 06/19/2010 05:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For the sake of comparison and honesty in the debate of what is doing what to what... Just how much of the "Greenhouse Effect" is caused by human activity? It is about 0.28%, if water vapor is taken into account-- about 5.53%, if not. Human activities contribute slightly to greenhouse gas concentrations through farming, manufacturing, power generation, and transportation. However, these emissions are so dwarfed in comparison to emissions from natural sources we can do nothing about, that even the most costly efforts to limit human emissions would have a very small-- perhaps undetectable-- effect on global climate. So, let us move on to the lies and deceit and why I am YELLING! While the smarmy faced elitist monsters chimp on with their "pocket" scientist fear-mongering propaganda and carbon swap trade scams... people and all species are facing an irrevocable set of change circumstances... which cannot be impacted at all with taxes or legislation. The changes are immutable and guaranteed - regardless! For the elite, disclosure is never a "Before the fact" option - only "After the fact", once their heinous deeds have exploded in OUR faces. Check it out and see the truth of my words. They have already begun their arrangements... their plan is called "Every man for himself." It does not include "Women and children first," - it never has and never will. The game IS on... and the game is "hard-ball." From the board room. Opportunities meeting! We are killing everything! BUT... The profits were insane! Can you imagine it was all fully approved for their use. How can we turn this into even more insane profit? They think it is their own fault! How insane is that! Hehe... show them stuff like this... [link to beyondprophecy.blogspot.com] Hang out... EZ Links - HOT daily news portal. [link to beyondprophecy.blogspot.ca] |

NewBeginnings User ID: 628029 United States 06/19/2010 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We had something recent happen in Ohio with the electric company. Our electric bills doubled over one bill period. There was a ton of outrage and they reversed the idea. (For now) Now say you have all your bills doubled. That's electric, gas and water at least. No way are you going to be able to pay those bills now and be able to keep your house and have food on the table. All of a sudden electric companies are not going to get paid. That will ruin their business and the ripple effect starts for an economic collapse. I think any tax will be so small that people won't even notice. There is just no way that 115 million households in America are just going to say, "Oh ok, we'll just pay that new electric bill of near $500 a month, even though my old bill was $250." Even for a senior on social security if their bill was $45 a month and they doubled it, now they would be paying almost $100 a month. For me right now, my electric bill is about $175. If doubled it would be $350 a month. My mortgage is only $250 a month. How could anyone justify a tax with that much of a difference? My anthem to the shills of GLP: We're never gonna, believe in, the stories, that you're weavin' We're believin' in the proof, we're believin' in the truth We're believin' in each other, not you, you, you (Bang Bang Bang - Mark Ronson) ------------------------------------ Janey's "doesntwannabeglpsobad" ~Google It~ ------------------------------------ “Of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong.” - Robert Anton Wilson |

DESTROY THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM! The harder they push the quicker the thing falls apart, we hang the bastards and use their legislation to wipe our butts! I'm serious! The quicker they can twist the screws down tight the faster the board will split and we'll get things straight. Maybe some of you morans that voted for this bunch if pinheads will vote a little smarter next time and realize that whats in D.C. and your state is nothing but a simulation of your REAL government, while your real government is actually dormant. Sound like doublespeak? Its not. Here is what has happened: [link to gotfr.com] The set of laws they run under are not constitutional, they are the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1008562DIAF YOU PIECE OF SHIT BP COCK SUCKER. Agree. Hes paid top do that, or enjoys hell on Thursday nights. Anyway, our utility bill will rise to average $800 a month. That's a family of four, no workshop. Businesses will see utility bills triple. This may be good with a strong economy with zero corruption and a smart president, too bad we don't have any of the above. I think its about time we clean house. |

Our electric company SRP already has price hikes every 6 months. We just had a 6% hike in May...despite the economy. I'm already swealtering trying to save money in the daytime. We cannot live without Air Conditioning here. The people here cannot afford this tax hike. We already are paying out the ass, and our employers make us work in hotter then hell conditions as it is. |

anonanon User ID: 1008751 Switzerland 06/19/2010 05:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Of course they want to push it through. They have an amnesty bill to pass before the November elections and next January when the new Congressmen and Senators take their place. Anyone who votes for any Democrat in November is a total idiot. This bill has nothing to do with reducing emissions and everything to do with the 400 billion a year in taxes that the government is estimated to get from it. Then they will claim the national debt and budget deficits are not so bad and there is no reason to make any cuts. In the meantime, the price of everything will double and triple. We will be paying 6 bucks a gallon at the gas pump and you can use your air conditioner as a plant stand because the cost of electricity will be so high that you will not be able to afford to use it. In the winter, you will simply have to get used to being cold. I seem to recall Obama saying we should all get sweaters to wear in the house. With the cost of energy dramatically increasing, people will purchase only the bare necessities which means more companies will go out of business which means even more unemployment and welfare spending. Time to let your representatives know that whatever deal they get from the President to vote for this thing, they will not get a vote from you if they do. |

Convenient. Hehehe. You poor little children. You think the "Carbon Tax" is about carbon? Certainly! Right? Just like the "Healthcare" legislation was about healthcare, right? Hidden agendas never work out well for anyone. Cap & Trade is not about cleaning up the environment, its about breaking the USA so that world government and control of the masses can be implemented. So, they call it "Cap and Trade". If they called it "The Tax That Will Break The USA" you wouldn't support it, would you? If they called the "Healthcare Choices Act Of 2009" its true name of "Shitloads Of Money For Big Pharma, Crooked Politicians And A Way To Cause Doctor Shortages And Kill The Finest Healthcare System In The World Act" you'd be pissed if they passed it. In both cases, instead, they create a couple thousands of pages of legal-speak so you won't read it (and if you do, you won't be able to understand it) and so you go on the title. The title of the bill is *ALWAYS* betrayed by the contents of the bill. The "Healthcare Choices Act Of 2009" does *EXACTLY*THE*OPPOSITE* of giving you choices. It *TAKES*THEM*AWAY*. Wait until it hits full force. If you're over 60 or have health problems you are in a pickle and there is NOTHING you can do about it. Pray that the new crop of people we elect this fall will repeal it. |
