But it was not overpopulation - That is just a myth. You can't go extinct just from overpopulation. If a population of squirrels gets too overpopulation, predators and diseases take them out until they are overpopulated; but they will come back. What I was told is that our DNA is deteriorating at such a rate that in 100-300 years there will be too many mutations that are DNA basically will fall apart.
