Anonymous Coward User ID: 1009756 Brazil 06/20/2010 06:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have always greatly admired Brazilian soccer, but this game was really dissapointing. First the handballs goal of Fabiano should have been punished with a red card. As it turns out the lack of proper officiating is the real reason this game got out of control. Time after time, the ref was unwilling to issue yellows to discipline rough play. I can say honestly that I was not that impressed by Brazil. Aside from the Fabiano mess, and the officials taking the steam out of the Ivory Coast team, Brazil has shown many weaknesses, especially defensively. Brazilian fans should not assume that Brazil should win. They have to deserve it. Both teams played rough and not so clean. But it is the job of the refs to control the game with fairness. Argentina, Germany and Holland could easily topple Brazil assuming the refs don'y ruin more games. They already decided wrongly the results of USA versus Slovenia, Mexico versus South Africa, and they ruined the Germany versus Serbia game as well. FIFA needs to consider replays to offsides and goals scored for infractions. Otherwise this game will drop in popularity. As a follower of world cup play, this is the worst officiated tournament I have ever seen. Quoting: [link to g.sports.yahoo.com] |
