the general thought is sulfer... but when the other camera was up there it didnt look orange on that feed... it may be lighting and high contrast ratio on that particular ROV camera.

It does... look at the big crack on the right side of it, and just below that, it looks like lava or something starting to run out (I know it's not lava - just describing it). Then over to the left are two small holes. Looks like it's disintegrating. Holy crap.

That's the New Dispersant Assy It has a long pipe w/Disp. head on it which is buried into the plume. At it's base you'll see multi-smaller heads leaking Dispersant? What was drop was the larger older Dispersant Assy. It was lying at the bottom and the ROV was checking it out. I did not stay on it to long, it may still be on the bottom. Yes strange as the ROV went down and the camera was aimed down you could see the bubbles coming up. I call these invisible Bubbles. You'll seldom see them head on, unless it's really dark. But their, there.

The camera saturation has been turned up in order to enhance colors.

More than likely the color changes you're seeing are due to the inclusion of H2SO4 (Sulphuric Acid) which would account for the yellow and orange.

This would also account for why the erosion is taking place as this acid is highly corrosive.

Physical properties
1. Pure H2SO4 is colorless but commercial acid is yellow in color due to presence of impurities.

2. Highly concentrated H2SO4 (98%) has a specific gravity of 1.84 and high boiling point of 621K. The high boiling point shows that H2SO4 has associated structure due to hydrogen bonding as shown in figure:
