The Chaco Canyon and it's mysteries - any theories?
hi, i'm wondering what you guys think about Chaco Canyon. For those of you that don't know what it is, watch the series on youtub (Mysteries of the Chaco Canyon Parts 1-6) or check out a site like traditionsofthesun.org

In short, it's an Indian site southern U.S. Their civilization was extremely astronomically advanced.

I have to write a mini report on this for school. I would like to know any of your guys' theories on this - whether it's aliens, passed knowledge, spiritual, or whatever.

I personally have no idea how that civilization managed to create the things they did with the limited tools they had, similar to the pryamids of Egypt. I'm leaning to a theory of Ancient Aliens, though it is still just a theory. Any good arguments for the limited proof my argument has?

Thanks in advance.

Umm...

The kivas are shaped just like the vatican courtyard. That's all I can think of.

Wow.. that's pretty weird.. Columbus founded the Americas in 1492. The Vatican courtyard was made designed in 1506. So it would theoretically possible that they copied the design from the Kivas..

no mystery unless you accept what modern science spews.

Ancient man was as smart or smarter than we are.

we've been getting dumber, not smarter.

evolution is a lie.

Incas came in and showed them the ways of cannibalism. They ate each other.

The advanced tech that they had was left over from a previous civilization.

Kind of like if a major cataclism happened to our modern world a few remnants of our tech would be around for a while after the event.

Re: The Chaco Canyon and it's mysteries - any theories?
Modern man (last 2000 years) has always tracked large objects in the sky. Ancient races and native americans have always tracked very small objects. By concept of relative objects, ancient and natives have always been the "more advanced" in the galactic tracking processes.

Seeing as the ancient and natives had very little "tools" to use for these methods the "modern man" was marveled by their adeptness and accuracy with little more than a string and a stick many times.

The ancient races and native americans have always said the world was round, while modern man was stuck on the world being flat until last 1000 years. That again shows who held the truer knowledge of this planet and its galaxy relevance.

Whether it was taught to them by a "Higher" source or not, only they would provide that answer. That answer was provided by many in their own pictorials and in their recorded history. Many discuss the "GODS or Travelers", you deduct what you wish from that.

This planet was truly harmed by the religious cults that assisted in destroying almost all the records of the Mayas. They held much knowledge on the stars and their GODS and the processes of how this system of life here on our planet "Tiamat" began. The 7th planet (not 3rd) as you enter our galaxy. Many ancients knew this was the 7th planet as you enter this galaxy. To have had that knowledge and not be able to travel through space would tend to lead you that the knowledge was provided and then taught to the rest. And before you ask, YES,...we are the 7th as you enter this system.
Modern man is a mental midget in the galactic scheme of life.

I really appreciate your response Infernal! I'll copy and paste my report here, it's pretty interesting. It's short but I think youll like it. Anyway the questions I was answering were: what are your impressions on these civilizations (the Indians of the Yucatan peninsula ((Maya)) and the Indians of the Chaco Canyon)?, and another question is why do you think NASA is involved in these places? There were a few more but you'll figure it out. Heres the report:

Part 1

Their astronomical advance is what makes the largest impression on me. While Europeans were still believe that the Earth is flat, the Maya peoples were able to predict lunar eclipses and the Indians of Chaco fully understood the way the Sun is move, the way Earth revolves and rotates around the Sun too. The Chaco understood our location in the Solar system, and they were able to take advantage of this to plant and harvest. The Maya developed a written language and an accurate calendar for their time, and this is show how astronomically advanced they were. I believe there is still much mystery around these civilizations. The Chaco, who did not have a written language, were able to build several story buildings with over 600 rooms using heavy materials that are more than 200 kilometers away. This shows the determination for these people to build a building like Pueblo Bonito, which some believe is most likely for religious purposes.

Another general impression of these people is their spirituality and peace. During this time, the Europeans were constantly at wars and fighting with themselves, even other continents, while these Indian people are at peace and instead invest their power on sciences and culture, and people today still have wars and focus less on things that matter like the peoples of the Yucatan and Chaco Canyon did.

I am not surprised that NASA is involved in these peoples legacy. I believe there is still many part of their mystery that we do not have a good way of explaining, maybe it is possible that much of the knowledge given to these peoples could come from somewhere else, that we don't yet know about. Their knowledge of astronomy and the way they designed their structures aligned to the Sun might be why NASA would be associated with this. I can also see why the National Park Service is associated with them, I think it's because these structures are part of peoples culture, they are sacred and should be kept very nice.

Part 2

To me, the most interesting structure is the Pueblo Bonito. It's purpose is the very interesting to me, it has over 600 rooms and the materials for it are 200 kilometers away, so it has required much effort to build. Research has shown that this building was not a city or a place where the Indians of the Chaco Canyon lived. Many historians believe that it was a place for religious ceremony, but to me it is look like some kind of a jail, but I don't think anyone knows for sure what it's purpose was.

Another very interesting thing about the Chaco culture many of their petroglyphs. They have many drawings on canyon walls of human like figures with always 6 fingers, which seems very strange to me because it looks like these pictures aren't pictures of the Indians themselves. Something else very interesting about these drawings is that they are on the canyon walls 10 meters above the ground, and that makes me wonder how and why did they reach those heights to draw those pictures.

I think the last paragraph of this report may be the most interesting to you guys, I can give you some links if your interested.

They were the Branch Davidians of their time, and cannibals.

The rest of their culture killed THEM in retribution!!
