The mining industry in Australia is a major part of the economy and provides many Australians with high paid jobs so messing with it is going to piss off a lot a workers. Yes the bosses may be millionares but their employees are doing pretty well out of it and jobs on the mines are highly sought after and among the best paying in the country. Unlike many countries cheap labour is zero, all are union pay scale employees. The country gets a bucketload of tax from the mines already. |
