I turned off my wifi from 11:15 to 12:00. I don't have a "smart" phone, TV or radio.

I haven't noticed any problems since I turned back on.

Also, I want to say to PoG that I know and knew the tide goes up river a bit. There are islands on the Rogue close to the mouth that are inundated at high tide and exposed at low tide.

I know this well from rock hunting (these are some of the best places for rocks like agates) and have barely escaped swimming when I was late to get off one of the little islands before the tide came in. I call it Stranded Deer Island because of the body of a deer that didn't make it I encountered once.

And of course, the Salmon swim upriver to spawn in fresh water. I worked at the hatchery, so I am very familiar with the life cycle of the salmon. As well as fishing for Steelhead miles upriver.

I am sorry you thought my comment was denying tides come up river. I did not express myself very well, apparently.

The issue is--why is their water source so close to the ocean? Or is it? If it is miles upstream it seems unlikely to be affected. That's all I was saying, I did not mean to insult you!

I'm at work right now...so in and out of the thread...

a quick recap: the BEZERK thread is the only thread of its type amongst the top twenty "most popular" GLP threads of all time; namely a thread for tracking all types of scientific phenomena, anomalous events and patterns, technological displacements, and various societal events in the aggregate.

yes other threads may track some portion of these topics, but amongst the top 20 threads, almost all other threads either have some underlying theme relating to mystical concepts or topics, or else alternately they mainly hinge upon various underlying political concerns, goals, or approaches.

all of these are valid as well of course; i am simply pointing out the type of niche that typifies this thread in particular, as having a niche of its own.

we truly appreciate the contributions and insights of everyone here. your insights are commendable, and an open forum of this type seems like a logical endeavor to pursue as beneficial to society, and to the concerns of multiple groups... as if united in one vast Federation. the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few! Digital Mix Guy! Just a couple of thoughts...

Thanks for your coverage yesterday (10-04-2023) and maybe
some today (10-05-2023) where we can "brain-storm" about
the emergency alert test. I was comforted knowing we had
a place to post our concerns and observations...questions.

GLP is probably the only "hold-out" at this point who
believes that there WILL be a component to yesterdays test that will
turn out to be "unusual" in some way, right?

As is usual (now under the Biden administration in 2023) with our
"CAPTURED media" (no longer a "free press")...significant information
is withheld for days (or weeks) so public memory and attention is neutralized
away from any alarming information--especially any NEGATIVE information which may
shed light on a technology's health risks...It just fades into the FOG.
LET'S JUST GO SHOPPING FOR HALLOWEEN, right?



Some of us, tho, do keep an eye out days later...just as
with the incredible information coming forward days later
out of the Maui wildfires August 8th and 9th 2023 (remember THAT
unusual news--people even raising questions with THAT were
branded "conspiracy-nuts"--as if our citizens are doing something
WRONG even illegal asking questions, having concerns.

Under the Constitution of our country, in a Democracy questions are not only allowed,
questioning is encouraged.

For one example, what's this deal with "frequency" and "PULSE" they describe
with yesterday's cell-test that is mentioned as if everyone is already on the same
page already with those words and "normal broadcast tests" as if that was
included all the way back into the 1950's or something! It hasn't been, sorry.

My confusion is about this reference to "frequency" and "pulse" that are
used to describe today's emergency broadcast test. These words haven't
been part of any emergency "test" (at least that I can recall) PRIOR TO 10-40-2023.

Can someone explain this to me like I am a "10 year old" so that "frequency and
pulse" can be clarified for yesterday's ROUTINE test as being "routine."

This is the reference in mainstream media/journals using those descriptions
--like most Americans would be familiar with them. I believe it is a "sad day"
when ANY QUESTION RAISED about how the 10-04-2023 test MAY DIFFER in
some significant extent to OTHER "drills" involving a "frequency PULSE" -- a
term I haven't heard used in reference with such "routine tests." (IT ISN'T!)
