If OP was a hoaxer with military experience they would have probably tried to present some credentials to that effect.

Very good post Jen. I am also from the Gulf Coast(MS). People same here, either they are in denial or there looking for ways to make a free buck off of BP. I know lots of people trying to file false records for fishing, rentals you name it, trying to to take advantage of the situation...disgrace.
