Half naked men arrested while driving a lawnmower on the motorway

Police kept busy on Midsummer Eve

Police in many parts of Sweden were fully occupied on Midsummer Eve dealing with everything from drunken fights to half naked men driving a lawnmower on the motorway.

A number of drunk drivers and inebriated revellers were taken into police custody across the country. There were also reports of a number of assaults at parties and camping sites.

Police on the island of Öland “as usual made lots of different kinds of interventions”, while in In Halland police had “quite a messy and hectic day.”

But many parts of the country experienced a relatively calm Midsummer Eve. Police in Västernorrland did not have to make a single arrest. In Jönköping too the holiday was largely uneventful, although three people received facial burns after an accident with a barbecue at the High Chaparall camping site.

On the E4 motorway outside Sundsvall, police stopped two men on a motorized lawnmower wearing nothing but minuscule shorts. The driver of the vehicle is suspected of aggravated drunk driving.
