Gulf state emergency preparedness agencies confirm mass evacuation plans

A well-placed source in California told WMR that the California Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) has been briefed by its counterpart agencies in the Gulf coast states that there are plans to conduct a mass evacuation of millions of Gulf coast residents due to the catastrophic environmental and public health effects of the BP oil disaster.

CEMA officials have been briefed on the planned evacuations by counterparts in the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, and the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

The Gulf states’ emergency planners stressed to their California counterparts that they are dealing with a disaster of unprecedented proportions and that contingency plans are being constantly updated and revised on ways to deal with the transformation of the Gulf of Mexico into a deadly “toxic soup” of oil and Corexit 9500 oil dispersants and the atmosphere into a dangerous mixture of hydrocarbon gases.

Fact is, they gonna evacuate.

Fact is, California needs tax money and people to work the plantations.


What would be funny is if, after everyone from the gulf states move, 40 million people, then the BIG ONE struck California.

That would be SO IRONIC.

I've been really torn over this coast deal, would TPTB let a hurricane wash this crap over people with sickness and maybe death ensuing, or would they call for an evac? Either way it bodes ill for people. It's a bitter pill to swallow and alot of people won't believe it. until it's upon them.

Jen, That's off the other site, almost word for word, though, I look at that site very carefully, there is sometimes a grain of truth to the story.


I wouldn't think they would notify just Calif.
ALL the states would be in on it.

What makes you think they haven't? Just because someone in Cali let the cat out of the bag, doesn't mean other states aren't being notified of this. Just because it hasn't been leaked yet, doesn't mean it's not happening.

My bother is a liaison with Cal-EMA. This is BS! However, there is multi-agency planning/training going on in regards to the BART officer verdict coming out on Thursday! I hear they are planning for LA type riots to occur in multiple large cities.

they just lucked out cause it is a reason to get the hell out and they can act like they care ...
