So are you saying that us gun owners are mentally ill? I guess the colonists are equally insane back in 1775, after all they had firearms

Get legal ones. bury those.

A gun that is buried in the ground is useless .

I agree with that. Why bother if you have to bury it...you might as well bury your head, like so many seem to be doing.

I have owned Guns for years and they have not killed anyone.

They just lay there in their cases silently with the clips of hollow points beside them for company.

Sometime in my past, I was at the MEPS, when I made a pledge. I still hold that pledge dear to me. And yes, I'm a nationalized citizen. Keep vigilant. Violence is not always the solution. The Founding Fathers knew that but there might come a time when we must act as they did. In our case, to preserve the republic.

Giving mentally ill guns? I think you are mentally ill for saying that!

how about this...

The US needs to throw away this archaic notion of giving everyone the right to weapons...especially assault weapons..... I hope the army does end up going door to door confiscating every weapon .... then after that people would have to pass psychiatric evaluation before being able to own a gun

the idea of a 'well regulated citizen militia' was ok for the times that this law was made... but in the 21st century is just a fucking joke...

so yeh... if I must spell it out

just give every fucking nutcase a weapon and that will fix everything,eh?

Hey, aussie .

It's not your country so keep your trap shut.

If you want all guns banned in your country then go ahead.

If the Citizens of the USA are disarmed they are no longer Citizens as they become subjects to be ruled.

you people are not fucking colonists.... 80% of people with weapons in the US are not mentally stable enough to be trusted with weapons... the toll from gun death every year clearly demonstrates that.

but I guess your only argument will be to shitcan my country for it's regulations on firearms and not address the reality of the situation... the stench you people leave in tragic murder/suicide/shooting rampage threads is disgusting... blame the people not the guns, fuck off .. don't pretend to me you must have guns to defend against your government... that is just bullshit

the government could ,if it needed to ,could easily defeat any militia.. even if it was well organised

you are all fucking tripping on this this thing
totally in denial of the reality of the situation

I heard yesterday the the Supreme Court UPHELD the Second Ammendment. I about did a jig right there in the kitchen!.. :)
With so much bad happening..it did my heart good to hear that at least we have retained 1 thing important to our survival.
I also think it's hugely important that we keep the right to have our State Miltias.
I figured they'd kill the second amm. to get rid of the Militias, saying that there is no more need for that to be in there...modern times and all.
I believe we need the Militias more now than we probably ever have!
I consider yesterday a win for the real Americans...the people out walking the street, doing all the small jobs the Elite are too good to do.
About damn time we got to put a mark on our side of the board!!!
I may just have to go and do some target pratice today...to celebrate! :D

OK.

Yesterday in the USA we had a group of judges who wear gowns vote on the 2nd Amendment and for the record we had 4 judges vote against the 2nd Amendment and 5 judges vote in favor of your rights.

This should be a clue as it shows the mindset of 4 judges who believe that WE The People have no right to own firearms
to protect ourselves or hunt .

Makes you think about how close we all come to losing our right through the injustice system due to the personal opinions of scotus judges.

What would have happened if the majority votes had been against the 2nd Amendment and the judges decided that we The People did not have a right to own firearms?

I believe it would have been a bad scene had it gone down that way.
True enough, it was by very little that we held on to it....and you are probably right in thinking that it won't be long until this is Challenged by the New Supreme Court that is going to come about.
Yesterday was the last day for 1 of the Judges, may have been 2.
I know there is that Kagan woman that's up to replace 1 of them...
Anyway, I don't feel like we'll hold on to the victory long....
But I think we should celebrate it while we still can.

Personally , when it's "overturned"...I guess I'll just become a criminal...because I won't hand my guns over....they will have to literally take them from my cold dead hands.

Hey Aussie a lot of good your gun control has done since they taken your guns..LOL

Australia
Gun Control Failures.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed, a program costing the government more than $500 million dollars.

The results are in:

Australia wide: homicides are up 3.2 percent.
Australia-wide: assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide: armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent).

In the state of Victoria, homicides with firearms are up 300 percent. Figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robberies with firearms.

This has changed drastically in the past 12 months. There has been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.

Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain how no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such monumental effort and expense in "ridding society of guns."

[ 2002 ] You won't see this data on the evening news or hear it from your President (Bill Clinton), Vice-President (Al Gore), Janet Reno, the FBI, or any of the other initial agencies of the government.

It's time to state it plainly:

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws only affect the law abiding citizens.

Take note California and other Americans, before it's too late.

Re: gun control and 2nd amendment.
"...to disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." George Mason

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." James Madison

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States" Noah Webster

"...if raised, whether they could subdue a Nation of freemen, who know how to prize liberty, and who have arms in their hands?" Delegate Sedgwick

"...but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights..." Alexander Hamilton

"As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms." Tench Coxe

"Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people" Tench Coxe

"The Constitution shall never be construed....to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms" Samuel Adams

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always possess arms, and be taught alike especially when young, how to use them." Richard Henry Lee

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms....The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants" Thomas Jefferson

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined" Patrick Henry

"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence ... From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good" George Washington

"Those, who have the command of the arms in a country are masters of the state, and have it in their power to make what revolutions they please. [Thus,] there is no end to observations on the difference between the measures likely to be pursued by a minister backed by a standing army, and those of a court awed by the fear of an armed people." Aristotle.

American history lesson for the night:

GEORGE WASHINGTON (First Constitutional President)
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the people's liberty teeth keystone... the rifle and the pistol are equally indispensable... more than 99% of them by their silence indicate that they are in safe and sane hands. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. When firearms go, all goes, we need them every hour." (Address to 1st session of Congress)

THOMAS JEFFERSON (Author of Declaration of Independence, member Continental Congress, Governor of Virginia, Minister to France, Secretary of State, Vice President, 3rd President ) "On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." 12 Jun 1823 (The Complete Jefferson p.32)

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." (Jefferson Papers, p. 334, C.J. Boyd, 1950)

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." (Thomas Jefferson Papers p. 334, 1950)

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms...The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Letter to William S. Smith 13 Nov 1787 (Jefferson, On Democracy p. 20, 1939; Padover, editor)

Guns are evil and should be banned. Call the police if you have a problem.

also. Hope you get the point.

Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

Yep, I went on a rant. Things have been happening and I felt helpless. I don't want our lives controlled by others. I don't want the quality of life to be spoiled by others. I know it isn't a perfect world, but I kind of like it anyway. So now that I have that out of my system I think I will just try to focus on what is good in life.
