PEOPLE - It is time to give up on BP and the Government - GRAB a shovel and a few large trash bags and GET IT DONE
NOTE: The MSM seems to respond when a topic goes viral over the I-Net. To REALLY promote this idea, spread it far and wide. If you own a webpage publish this, if you own a radio station announce it. If you have roots in any form of mass audience media do what you can to get the message out. THEN the MSM will respond and things will get done.

If you have potential to publish and ignore this game changing proposal, you have yourself to blame. You do not want the guilt.....................think about it

Who is willing? There are thousands of people willing to speak up and rightfully so! But where are the people when it comes to hard work? Do we expect the Mexicans to do this for us?

Seriously?

If I was in driving range, I would have took a trip out and put in my 6 hours cleaning up.

If 1% of the local population did this.......the beaches would be cleaned right now.

Of course it won't be a one time thing. Keep going out there, keep shoveling, keep draging that garbage out to recycling center.

One day, months from now, when the well is capped. People will be able to stand back and say, "Yes, WE did it!!"

Instead of, "Damn, they failed to do it!!"

It won't clean up the water but it's something. It's a start.

It says WE are willing and able!!!

WE are not afraid of a few hours of work for our neighborhood and our neighbors.

It will send a message to the Government and BP. If they fail to support US, they clearly made their choice and aligned with the problem. And so we continue onward to clean THEM up too.

No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.
Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points.

If I lived in the area I'd be there but I live in Northern NM. I admire your willingness to do what Obammy would never dirty his hands to do.

Good luck and God bless.

Ah.....so we have identified the first obstacle.

Solution: Remove the elements that would detain good, honest, hard working Americans from cleaning up there beaches.

Can't say where. Just pick a spot and make an example. Convince others to help.

Get a van load, a few friends, a social clean up party. Whatever it takes.

I am no where near close enough to help but that doesn't deny what I post is true. I have gone outside and cleaned up my own street at times. It's not that hard, just unusual these days.

I feel people hesitate in part of what others may think of them.

You have a good honest intention behind the operation. It wouldn't be too hard to get others going.

And eventually, it will snowball into a huge movement. That is what we want. A large outcome of volunteers. In mass we can move entire mountains, why not some oil?

Dying for a worthy cause is much better than dying as a morally constipated, selfish prick who only thinks of him/herself...

Like:

Obammy
BP Elites
Pete Stark
Pelosi
Biden

Nevermind...not enough space on GLP to put up a full list

How do we dispose of those toxic trash bags? Is there a landfill big enough to hold all the oil from this spill/volcano?

So how can we change that policy peacefully? There has to be a way to get someones attention and convince them we are capable.

This is beyond political agenda. I'de go as far as saying, so what if we need to do a little ass kissing...whatever it takes to get it done.

But when I type this out, a certain reality becomes clear. A reality we all already know............isn't that just so damn depressing? It really lights my fire. I don't understand how people can tolerate this anylonger? It baffles me.

I can't help but admire your spirit and honest effort to get something going that actually could and would help. Thank you!

But, I must bring this to the table, so to speak.
Those wimps in the Gulf area who are supposedly cleaning up
in and around the area for BP...
do NOT DARE say one bad word about BP for fear of losing what ever pay they may be getting.
The same goes for almost every single business owner and whoever in the area...
BP has had them and does have them sign a piece of paper saying they will not talk with any reporters... etc., etc., etc., ....

But... you can be ... darn well SURE...
The second a decent person like yourself
comes into the picture... to help MOTHER EARTH
And... to make a better Earth for our children...
You are going to be called a TREE-HUGGING SOB... sued
and chances of getting HURT...
for taking clean up jobs from the locals... whew!

Most of these people won't say a bad words about BP...
But, as for YOU and other caring individuals...
And, as a fellow American... YOU don't count!
They'll come after those who dare to care.

Don't let fear direct your life.
BP is using fear to quell the outrage over the use of corexit. Saying that it would be even worse ecological disaster without using it. Truth is they don't care about the effect on the wildlife.

I'm thinking BP is bankrupting themselves and funneling money to other companies they own through the use of corexit, chemical testing, and cleanup.

Hell pretty soon they will probably be taking out loans and making money from going under.

So when is this going to kill 1/3 the sea creatures? chuckle

OIL SPILL yawn

It is finally bigger than the one in 1979 ( per reported numbers but you know back in 1979 that went on for 9 months there was no way to verify the numbers ) chuckle

Are you going to pay for all of my medical expenses, including hospitalisation, long term physical therapy and, or a nursing home if necessary?

Are you going to pay me for long term disability?

Are you going to pay for my funeral and final expenses?

Are you going to pay for a huge ass life insurance policy which will go to my loved ones in the event of my death?

Are you going to pay me for all out of pocket expenses?

I talked to a guy who I went to school with who helped clean up the Exxon Valdez spill for a summer.

Back in 1989, as an unskilled cleanup worker, he was paid twenty dollars an hour (over 40 dollars an hour in todays money) straight time, time and a half over 40, double time on weekends, triple time on holidays. He got free room and board, free insurance, free transportation, and free uniforms.

Eventually he contracted the Exxon crud. He suffered numerous illnesses over the course of the rest of his life.

He died last year.

Do you think big oil paid for any of his health related expenses?

FUCK NO!

He lived and died in a hovel. Lonely, broke, and sicker than hell.

I'm with you OP, and i'm another one that is not able to get there and health.

if enough people in mass show up with shovels and bags, what are they going to do? show no fear this is our land!!
(hmmmm where did i hear that before?!) But really.....will they take the chance of arresting so many? knowing they are being filmed by people in the lurks? hehe... knowing stoping so many of doing what they are not can cause such an out cry of millions in this country?! People need to get pissed and use that energy in helping mother earth, for without her, we are all dead and so is all things beyond. The controllers of this world are such FOOLS!!!!

y'know what the average lifespan of a former Exxon-Valdez cleanup worker is?

I don't remember either, but they're all dead.

And if I recall correctly, they weren't using millions of gallons of Corexit that time.

I think there is a thread on here saying BP still owns the oil. Meaning if you clean it up - you could be charged with theft.

Plus - advising people to do this toxic clean up seems unwise.

I TOTALLY AGREE

BUT

Who is going to PROTECT us from the BP thugs which we all know WILL come and either arrest us or some other shit.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!

They are doing nothing,, Using the corexit against the wishes of the EPA.

Blatantly disregarding all life.

TIME TO TAKE A STAND

I'm in if anything comes of this

peace

Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to embrace the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. Die doing something or die doing nothing.

You see, if Exxon workers died like that, then everyone on the Gulf Coast is letting such a substance build up and will share the same fate if NOTHING is done.

I say clean it up to spare the children and other living creatures near the coast.

Besides, cleaning it up is the ONLY option to NOT end up like those Exxon workers. This isn't Alaska, this is OUR backyard!!!

It is not theft if you return it.

Advising people NOT to clean it up is the unwise part. Because if it isn't cleaned up, you will be living in the stuff. This is OUR land and we WILL be exposed to the same stuff exxon workers were exposed to.

Would you be charged with theft if someone left a bomb on your front door and you removed it?
