I've read more than once that something like 99% of all species that have roamed the earth are now extinct. The odds were against humans from the beginning and by our collective stupidity we've haven't really provided much of an argument for sticking around.

It seems like the earth works in cycles, there is a rhythm to all of this and right now we're just headed for a purge. Too much shit going down on the planet, crowding out the light, and the planet is just due for a cleansing. Shake off the humans and all the damage they've done and start clean. . .

Go walk through a forest. . .when the old trees die they decompose and help nourish the next generation. Our whole reality is about to die, but it will provide the nourishment for the next one. This whole thing that we're living now is near death, but it will be a nice contrast for wherever we end up next.
