Why do us Americans celebrate Independence Day, when we aren't Even Free!

What does FREE mean to you ...your definition?

We are still clinging to whats left of the 1st and the 2nd amendments. Until those are gone we are somewhat free. Let it be a wake up call.

Years ago when you were younger there were actual borders to the country.

years ago you had to actually be American to be President...

because they hate us for our freedo...er wait, they hate us b/c we bomb their villages.

because saddam had nookular weapons...um, that haven't been found YET.

because we have the right to assemble...er, um...unless it's a DNC/GOP rally or a "town hall meeting".

Your bloodiest war, and most of your battle deaths were against each other in your Civil War.

Good question OP, IDK.......My kids asked me the same one today and i didn't have an answer for them. Wonder if i could get away with wearing a tshirt to a local $th celebration that says " America is no longer Free" without being kicked out.....shall i try it?

I remember those incidents at those rallies, and both angered me. I also remember the press being banned from reporting things about 9/11, the wars, Katrina, and now the GOM. Seems all kinds of crazy that only now people are all hot and bothered their freedoms are gone. WTH kind of delayed reaction is that?

I celebrate the 4th because I get an extra day off.
