However, it isn't all that great over here. Sure, some parts of our lil old country are nice to visit... However, if you want to meet nice people, then don't go to the larger city's (Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht). I live in Rotterdam and people over there just suck! I'm currently searching for a home in Ridderkerk, since people are way more friendly. If you know our language, then you will be shocked by our swearing and cursing... We wish eachother only the worsed deceases... But still, there are some good guys over here, just like it is in any other country :) |

He is desperate to find a different multinational company to work for and return to Shanghai as it is, since his family is still back in Shanghai and doesn't want to leave the expat community, the schools etc. Once I got to Arnhem, though, saw three World Cup victories in the town square, partied with the fans and then jammed with the local musicians, I told this buddy of mine "Tell you what. YOU go back to Shanghai, and I'll stay here and pick up your lease." What a GREAT nation and people. The people reminded me of how pleasant and hospitable we Americans used to be. And the women...oh my god. Someone told me that Dutch people are statistically the tallest in the world, and that surely goes for the Nordic goddesses too. I'm 6' and my buddy is 6'3, but often some blond viking goddess would stride by towering over the both of us. I'm going to have to think of ways to visit there more often, or ways to transfer my own ass back there. Viva Orange Crush! |
