I don't think fuses will help if an EMP is detonated...everything will be fried...useless.

Yeah fuses will be burnt up, but so will whatever they were attached to so it will be no use to replace them.

Hey, just a little question, was there any CME last night or some that would arrive last night? (GMT -3 time, july 4th)

There was an energy shortage here (Brazil, Minas Gerais) for a brief period of time (probably some minutes) and when it came back on, I could hear the car's alarms.

Correct.

The individual PN junctions will blow open from excess current induced upon them from the external fields. A single microprocessor has hundreds of millions of PN junctions. Everyone will be either blown open or weld fused shorted together.

Every diode and transistor (in processors and stand alone) in every car, truck, generator, emergency generator, power distribution control system, sewage and water control system, aircraft, boat, ship, train, motocycle, pace maker and all medical everything, every phone, tv, radio, many clocks, all commercial and industrial control systems, etc.

... and the on shelf spares for everything not in a Faraday cage.
