Some people make the iris look resilient in the rain and gladiolus well rooted, the fluted lily rival,
others make the salt-bush, rushes n’ reeds swaying in the wind and water a totem to live by and beyond.

Crushing like the waves come crashing, running right through. And you sleep with the ghosts of your religion, and they are screaming, screaming still from the deepest nights of that child too frightened to wake too frightened to sleep too frightened to dream.
While the merry-go-round twinkles now, a jewel-box melody plays to the ponies proud n dappled prance, the bars shine, brassy, warn of grease and little hands.

Inverted and dancing over the mirror of your eyes
slowly like honey cool and willowy, light,
a vapoury clean bloom fresh from the morning;
bowls of grain and glasses full of juice.

A fractured rib landscape is a wonderment at times;
where hills have heaved in one last gasp before the earth slept,
her layers of epidermis naked and vulnerable,
bleeding and flaking away to warm golden sands between toes,
oceans long gone, though waxy leaves play the same washing tunes.
Tender cliff walls, hide like, etched deeply by yester years furnace slowly chisel away by small delicate shrubs, young tree roots and hardened stones rolling through to narrow chasms that echo with the same tonalities of a gentle silverband waterfall that plunges to quiet oblivion..

"As soon as you start writing, even if it is under your real name, you start to function as somebody slightly different, as a "writer". You establish from yourself to yourself continuities and a level of coherence which is not quite the same as your real life... All this ends up constituting a kind of neo-identity which is not identical to your identity as a citizen or your social identity, Besides you know this very well, since you want to protect your private life."

Over time a person can become crushed so often, they become soft, subsequent crushing’s no longer produce creases. Fibres of a being; soft as a handkerchief that is milled to perpetuity.

"Mommy told me something
A little kid should know
It's all about the devil
And I've learned to hate him so
She said he causes trouble
When you let him in the room,
He will never ever leave you
If your heart is filled with gloom

So let the sun shine in
Face it with a grin
Smilers never lose
And frowners never win
So let the sun shine in
Face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in

When you are unhappy
The devil wears a grin
But oh, he starts to running
When the light comes pouring in
I know he'll be unhappy
'Cause I'll never wear a frown
Maybe if we keep on smiling
He'll get tired of hanging 'round.

If I forget to say my prayers
The devil jumps with glee
But he feels so awful awful
When he sees me on my knees
So if you're full of trouble
And you never seem to win
Just open up your heart and let the sun shine in

So let the sun shine in
Face it with a grin
Smilers never lose
And frowners never win
So let the sun shine in
Face it with a grin
Open up your heart
And let the sun shine in"

- A prayer within, echoing through the depths of the heart

- A young girl, praying for the winds of adventure

- A man, praying for the strength to protect

- A sage, praying for the wisdom to guide

- A woman, praying for the truth to shine

- A child, praying for innocence in a corrupt world

- A warrior, praying for a purpose in life

- A villiage, praying for their duty to live strong

- A husband, praying for the wife he loved eternally

- A world, praying for light to shine through the darkness

- A mother, lamenting the loss of her son

an arrow so disguised that
her point seemed but a grey gnat
and her feathers nothing more
than the daunting dress of a poor
girl

she is the urn containing the words
of the Swan of Mantua, borne from Capua
to Appolonia and Rhodos; the words
of Stoics, Pythagoras and Epicures -
pierian

her arc of the fifth degree is ethereal
as it passes through Lao Tzu
guided by Eros into the galley
where, upon a mound, her ashes
lay

risen by the principle of water,
of infinity, genesis; put to rest
by harmonies, pyres, in catacombs belonging
to a feigned husbandry of life.

The gentle kiss of frost,
enshrouds us in vain.
Its pale death mask;
shattered by the warmth of heart,
over and again.

Re: The Nature of Daylight
They bring us crushed fingers,
Mend it, doctor.
They bring brunt-out eyes,
Hounded owls of hearts,
They bring a hundred white bodies,
A hundred red bodies,
A hundred black bodies,
Mend it, doctor,
On the dishes of ambulances they bring
The madness of blood
The scream of flesh
The silence of charring,
Mend it, doctor.

And while we are suturing
Inch after inch,
Night after night,
Nerve to nerve,
Muscle to muscle,
Eyes to sight,
They bring in
Even longer daggers,
Even more thunderous bombs,
Even more glorious victories,

Idiots.

beautiful people.

I looked up as the sun was rising to an unblemished sky and saw your eyes there.
I looked up at noon and saw them yet still,
I saw them in the bark of a trees bended spine
and soils scuffed up paths
they shimmered in playful golden grasses
and became deep as oceans at dusk.

The art of poetry may lay in romanticism, or a lake that shimmers blue when eyes peer across its surface almost submerged, like the hollow bones of wings in hands and fingers soaring over water’s surface.

Re: The Nature of Daylight
This freedom to dream and laugh and dance
is all I've ever wanted to capture in sculpture;
but the medium is never fluid enough to remember being moulded

to remember ripples, bounce, a gentle sway,
a shining through the years
as one must, to remember.

So I stuck with sculpture as something conceptual,
took up yoga and made love more often to compensate.

There were no smooth seas there.
