NOAA: Gulf seafood tested so far is safe to eat
REALLY???

This video below begs to differ NOAA!!! Nice try though!

I (for one) am not taking the bait. I won't be eating sludge fish and neither will my family or friends!

They must think we are all IDIOTS.

APALACHICOLA, Fla. –

Shrimp, grouper, tuna and other seafood snatched from the fringes of the oil in the Gulf of Mexico are safe to eat, according to a federal agency inspecting the catch.

To date, roughly 400 samples of commonly consumed species caught mostly in open waters — and some from closed areas — have been

chemically tested by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Officials say none so far has shown concerning levels of contaminants. Each sample represents multiple fish of the same species.

NOAA and the Food and Drug Administration began catching seafood species in the Gulf within days of the April 20 BP rig explosion off Louisiana that generated a massive oil spill.

The agency is mostly looking for polycyclic

aromatic hydrocarbons, or PAHs, the most common carcinogenic components of crude oil.

The first line of defense in keeping tainted seafood from the market is the closing of about one-third of federal Gulf waters to commercial fishing — roughly 80,000

square miles.

Seafood inspectors also have been trained to sniff out oily product. One fish sample has failed the smell test, but did not show concerning levels of contaminants, Kevin Griffis of the Commerce Department said Friday.

Barry can continue to serve oysters on the half shell, crab and shrimp fresh from the gulf at his White House parties.

I am going to avoid food from that region.

me too. sorry to all the fishermen, but it is what it is.

I know you guys need income, but I enjoy living life and can't risk it on account that they have bills to pay. sorry.

did you guys watch the video of the Oil Oysters...It didn't embed in my original post but I added it.

Please share it with friends/family.

It was made weeks ago but still relevant nonetheless. I can only imagine how much worse the food supply has gotten down there.

Many oyster, and shrimp business have already folded/gone out of business too.

Even if this were true (which I have doubt), the reputation of Gulf seafood may have been damaged beyond repair.

On CNN yesterday or the day before, the head NOAA scientist did an interview with Dr Gupta and when asked how they test for the dispersant in the seafood, he said they DID NOT test for it because there is NO test for that! I live in La and I will not eat the seafood.

what is? please specify?

what the NOAA claims or the video with the boy and the oiled oysters? because (I'm sorry) the video is all the proof I need to see that "they" (meaning the NOAA and whatever else alphabet gov't organization) is on a major PR front to deceive.

I'll go with the video proof of the boy at the restaurant and the sad entrepreneur who had to shut down his business over anything the NOAA claims.

Of course the seafood is 'safe' they didn't find oil in the fish.

As for Corexit... well they do not appear to have a test for that, thus if you can't test for a thing, it doesn't exist, ergo the fish is safe!

(that last was sarcasm).

Personally I wouldn't go near the water, not consume anything that comes out of the water for the next 5 years AFTER the well is sealed and they stop dumping Corexit in the water.

By then enough people will be deathly sick, dying and/or dead for there to be real information coming out.

After all didn't the EPA say the air was safe at Ground Zero... to find out 5 years later that that wasn't altogether true?

YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING -- OP

The United States has their BEST PEOPLE on the ground in the Gulf, doing what they do best -- SNIFFING!

FDA approvals are just a bunch of people in white-overcoats with baseball caps "SNIFFING" at food and/or other subjects.

No Space-technology in that department.

Just fancy word terminologies like the IFPTI.

The next time you read or hear on the news; "Studies show that," -- Know that "the study" was conducted by a bunch of people in white-overcoats sniffing at the subject, THAT'S ALL. Don't expect a Star Trek type scientific examination, nah, nah, just your basic cave-man instinct (scratch & sniff).

They owe us way beyond huge.

This is now an organized crime against our people. Whether it started that way or not is irrelevant. It rises to the level of "racketeering" now.

These commercial entities and the federal/local governments playing ball with them, need to be stripped of power and assets. And yes; I'm including the joker in Washington. One hundred percent of their assets need to be redistributed to their victims.

oooh my bad. guess I FORGOT that the NOAA somehow became the FDA over the past 82+ days or so since the Oil Spill/Volcano incident.

My fault for OVERLOOKING this switch-a-roo of yet another gov't alphabet agency.

Got it. The NOAA is in charge or food regulation.

They are here to help us all beat away COMMON SENSE ey?

Um hmmm, so now we'll need "scratch n sniff" cards for our food, especially seafood. OOOOOkkkkkk.

I still won't be chasing the bait and eating tainted food.

I won't even make it 10 years. There's other ways of getting protein other that oily seafood full of Corexit.

Thanks but no thanks.

I agree.

And it should be a live primetime event, just like how they wasted air time on that Lebron James "decision" b.s.

Everyone should have to watch on tv or stream on the internet of them digging out a full plate of gulf seafood handed to them by the fishermen themselves....

I mean, I want nets and boats in the background and buckets.

To drink, some of the nice gulf salt water to swish it all down.

And then a week later, we all get to tune in to a primetime special showing if their intestines survived it all.

THEN and only THEN would I consider eating gulf seafood ever again.

Lead by example, know what I mean.
If the "lead" we'll follow...lol

FUCK THAT!

The guy in the video says he uses the 5 senses to detect tainted oil in food....

but the only one the highlight is the "sense of smell"????

Most of us aren't that dumbed down by vaccines and flouride in the water buddy....

Use your SENSE OF TASTE and then we can talk!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they ain't eating it, neither will I.

Idiots.
