If 25 million cubic feet of natural gas (read: methane) account for just the small portion which they manage to capture and burn off daily, how much exactly is escaping into the wild?! I mean, if you google for gas well discoveries, you will quickly notice that whenever they announce a new well capable of producing numbers like these, they tend to call the discovery PROLIFIC (as in BIG). Yet here, these are just the numbers they are capturing and burning off with that steel shower cap. You know, sort of the "throw away" - spare change - numbers.

Someone should do some reverese calculations based on these disclosed numbers from BP themselves.
