Other than the lack of BR player the Xbox is identical to the PS3 in almost every other way. Sony started designing the PS3 chipset and then Microsoft basically jacked the design. They chose to save money [and therefore the price to the consumer] by going without the BR player. Thats the ONLY reason it has sold so many units. Seriously, why pay to play games online when you can play the same game online for FREE with the PS3?

Almost every game of note is either rated 18 or M.

Let's say this again, one more time... maybe the fucking MSM will actually hear it too.

GAMES ARE NO MORE OR LESS FOR KIDS THEN MOVIES ARE.
There are kids movies and there are grownup movies.
Barney is rated U or G... Scareface is rated 18 or M.

Games are the same.
LEGO Batman is rated PEGI 7, which means kids can and should play it (it's simple colorful fun).

However Red Dead Redemption (recent chart smashing spaghetti western game) is rated PEGI 18 or M... which means kids should not be playing it as the game is aimed at adults.

And as I said above, pretty much every good game has that 18 rating.

Ergo... the primary market for games is adults... it's you and me my friend.

There is only one true gamer generation, the legendary Gen X, and we might be gettin old but we're still playing.

Electronics break does not matter what it is, dvd players etc..

My son and I have one of the original 360's from launch and just this past winter I had to replace the dvd drive, no big deal the lasers wear out after hours of gaming and movie playback...

It comes apart easy the new drive was less than 20 bucks problem solved, I also cleaned the GPU,CPU chips while I had it apart put new thermal paste on and cleaned everythong else as well...

And have had no problems...

Most ppl keep it in a cabinet etc. where it doesn't get enough airflow which helps cause the over heating problem, as well as never cleaning the vents on the system.. They are dust magnets...

i think most of the problems are caused from excess cannabis smoke... hold in your hits longer and your 360 and ps3 will last longer.

my philosophy:

1. About the video game, consoles are major for the console only games, which sometimes are great, sometimes kinda lame,

get all your multi-platform games on a supreb PC, that's the best way of enjoying the game!

2. About the console: Not sure how the old 90nm xbox360 goes, my dul-65nm works smoothly for 2 years, and the best thing which PS3 couldn't compare is that, my xbox360 could load a torrented game from any kind of usb driver, it's region free with all xbla unlocked ...

what else can you expect?

anyway, will get a slim with Kinect when they are avaiable, looking forward to that~~

it just happens that one has a habit of making faulty hardware and the sheeple continue to have no problem with it breaking because they are too consumed with their Xbox religion allegiance

I've had my 2006 arcade 360 til this day. No problems whatsoever.

The reason there's any failure rate at all is because no one knows how to take care of something. Gaming online for hours,putting systems in cabinets with barely any ventilation... keeping the system dust free... Its common sense.

I had an old 60gb one for nearly 2 years till i traded it in! It was in PERFECT condition but i wanted the slim :) traded that in when the Reach one came out and i love it!

As long as you keep them with plenty of air surrounding them they work great!!

Xbox 360 is the biggest piece of shit I ever bought.

Had mine for about 6 months, then it started ejecting my games, it would take about 2-5 minutes before it finally stopped ejecting.

Then that shit would just freeze randomly.

Finally got the RROD, so I got a used one at gamestop, got home, played it for about 10 minutes, another RROD.

Exchanged it for a different one, got home, plugged it in, RROD, didn't even get a chance to play it.

So I bought a PS3, haven't had any problems at all with it.

mine just did the ring of dead after 3 years a 500$ elite piece of shit.

um ya, technology does break down. The point is I have 4 friends that are on their 3rd Xbox !!! All of my friends who have a PS3 have not had any problems at all including myself.

Yes the PS3 can fail too! But you have to admit the hardware is built so much better on the PS3 and you don't have to deal with that ridiculous Battery Brick.

Im guessing you haven't touched bc 2. It fucking shits on modern warfare 2. The intensity level is insanely high on multiplayer, especially when your taking cover and the whole house is getting bombed to pieces.

True but the online for the 360 is far better. I own both because I like the God of War games. But when it come to online play xbox is better. And it should be. You pay $60 a year for it.

Most of these dumbasses have their consoles in places that are not recommended. What dumbass puts a console on top of another console. Plus the manual says not to place them on floors.

Other then that, playstation killed it with number 3. Especially once they started losing most of their exclusive rights. The first few years for ps3 had a real bad lineup and they just started picking up on good titles. I hope they stay in the game though. I'm still a Sony fan at heart.

Remove the hard drive and then put it back in..Try this...When shipping they do get loose...The people that get red dot right out of the box this seems to be the problem..Hope it works..If not that really sucks..If mine does this will go back to my arcade which works fine...

The funny part of this story is, I bought my 360 and PS3 on the same day in 2007, four days later my PS3 had the yellow light of death, I still have my 360!
