Anonymous Coward User ID: 1039622 Germany 07/17/2010 07:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not really a gaming person but I have the PS3 and it's superb. I would never buy a 360 because it's based on old tech. I mean, no Blu-ray? That's crazy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1033103It's actually the other way around. PS3 is old tech. Parellel processors and all. The 360 has tri-core technology. Blue ray isn't really anything special. It's just a large capacity DVD serviced by a blue laser. It's cumbersome and in order to function at a reasonable speed, it has to have data repeated on the disc!!! The only people who believe the PS3 is new tech are the idiots dumb enough to pay for one. |

Actually the PS3 has an 8 core processor. The first processor is the one that manages the other 7 and manages the memory. The problem with this is that they aren't 7 fully functioning processors. So they aren't fully programmable. They are limited to specific tasks and when something falls outside of range of tasks these processors are capable it must fall on the 8th. It's actually very complex. and only provides about a 50% improvement over the xbox 360s 3 fully functioning, fully programmable processors at about 5 times the cost. The ps3 processor has been a big flop for sony but by the time they figured out it wasn't going to work like they thought they had already invested over a billion dollars in designing it so they kept it. That being said XBOX with their failure rate is reason enough for me to buy a PS3 |

I'm pretty sure Foxconn manufactures the 360, and you (should) all know by now what that place is like. 360's break down because they're manufactured by slaves at the Foxconn "factory city". |

That being said XBOX with their failure rate is reason enough for me to buy a PS3 The failure rate thing is exaggerated. I've had a 2007 model for years. Never had problem with it. I think you'll find most owners saying the same thing. PS3 on the other hand (which uses 90s style parallel processing and has less memory available for VRAM -- thus lower color depth, less AA and slower frame rates) even has problems going online. The PS3 is junk compared to the 360, believe it or not. |

When my 360 went down I decided to by all future games when there is a choice for my PS3. I have only bought one game in the last year for my 360 and that was Halo. I will not invest anymore money on MS's platform, they blew it. |
