Larry Robinson, assistant secretary of Commerce for oceans and atmosphere/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): OUR SEAFOOD TESTS ARE MORE ALL -- IT'S WHAT IS DISPERSED ON OUR PROTOCOLS ARE NOT SPECIFICALLY LOOKING AT DISPERSANTS OR THE BYPRODUCTS OF DISPERSANTS. Senator Murkowski: ARE YOU INTENDING TO DO THAT? NOAA Assistant Secretary: I THINK THAT WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT THING TO CONSIDER BECAUSE WE'RE LEARNED FROM THIS SITUATION THAT THERE ARE OTHER POTENTIALS HERE, PERHAPS EVEN FROM BIOACCUMULATION OF DISPERSANTS AND THEIR BYPRODUCTS INTO SEAFOOD. SO THAT'S SOMETHING WE HAVE ON OUR LIST OF THINGS THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT. Senator Murkowski: IS FDA TESTING THIS... ARE THEY TESTING FOR DISPERSANTS? NOAA Assistant Secretary: I DON'T THINK THE PROTOCOLS, PRESENTLY CALL FOR THE TESTING OF SEAFOOD, WITH REGARD TO SEAFOOD SAFETY WITH REGARD TO DISPERSANTS OR BYPRODUCTS. IT'S REALLY THE OIL THAT WE'RE -- AND THE OIL BIPRODUCTS THAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN SEAFOOD AT THE MOMENT. [link to www.floridaoilspilllaw.com] This is because they don't have the protocols to test for the NEWLY developed experimental GM ( genetically engineered )microbes, bacteria and nonparticipants, used in the dispersants! Thread: Desperate actions in Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill disaster, Experimental Oil eating bacteria/microbes, causing unexpected results. The Laboratories don't know what to look for yet. If someone knows what to start looking for, then they can find it. However so far BP and Nalco, will not come forth and list the proprietary ingredients made at Nalco's research lab in China! Consumers often don't know where their seafood comes from even if its stated on the package. What fish products come from the gulf besides shrimp? |

(VIDEO) I am confused, oil floats on top of water. Seafood lives kind of deep beneath the surface, like 100 feet. Some seafood like clams and shrimp live on the bottom. It seems to me (I am not a scientist or a fisherman) that the seafood is seperated from the oil by a huge amount of CLEAN water. Am I missing someting here? Also, the clean water is full of fish poop--yech, why is that not a problem then. Seriously yech. |

Daniel The corexit is basicly baby shampoo, mixed with generic windex and some kind of kitchen countertop cleaner. These are household items and have been cleared for use by the EPA. Corexit is a generic term that can mean many diff types of formulas from the same manufacturer. The formula they are using in the Gulf is basicaly stuff a 23 year old mom would buy at WalMart with a baby in the house. The stronger stuff is used for cleaning rocks on the shore if cleared by the govt in the country they use it in. The stronger stuff was used in Britan along a rocky coast. How can this mild houshold stuff be a nero-toxin for humans. Maybe you're just being swept along by popular rumors. Am I missng something here? |
