I am thinking about enlisting with the Air Force or Navy but can't decide which one.

Enlisting won't do it, you need to go to an Academy. And have perfect eyesight.

Perfect eyesight and ... a whole buncha other criteria to be a pilot in either branch.

But I vote Air Force. In the Navy you could be out at sea for months on end. No home life for the duration, in other words. Plus ... Air Force has the Space Command.

It all depends on whether you model yourself after Tom Cruise or Steven Seagal.

Space command has both the air force and the navy. Only go into it, IF you can deal with them being under the control of the antichrist and you can maintain your free mind.

I have perfect eyesight, I might object to any vaccination if that prevents me from joining then it could be an issue. Will they refuse me entry if I refuse the needle? My body is not a test-bed for their latest biological advancements.

Try the Peace Corps, you'll live longer, you'll have a marketable skill, and you'll be loved and admired for doing good in the world instead of fighting for oil rights in other countries that wish we weren't there.

Absolutely. But pilots, especially fighter pilots, are the elite of the armed forces. You'll only be getting the stuff that's already been safety tested on grunts.

this is along the lines of what I was thinking. I just want to fly if I wash out of that which I am confident I would not I don't have much further interest in the armed forces. I know it would be a longer commitment to be a pilot but I'm willing to do that and try and work my way up the flight chain. I just can't conceive of my access to advanced technology otherwise. I have some conceptual designs for some aircraft and advanced propulsion but my real desire is to fly them, and I don't have the personal resources to try and build them myself.

of course if I were to become part of the military I would limit my online interaction to what is acceptable, probably not posting anything at all. Should I finish my 4 year degree (philosophy) and then apply to the academy? i'll be 25 when I graduate as I am 24 now. I'm still young but I need to figure out what I'll be doing for my future.

this is up there among my greatest concerns, but I might be willing to trade it for the chance to fly -- it's always been my dream.
