Anonymous Coward User ID: 1068915 United States 08/16/2010 09:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe not quite the right forum for this question but I wondered if anyone had tried it and with what level of success. Is it evil or dangerous? Quoting: NightshadeOK, look: You Do Not Want To Mess Around With It! I have a black "Congo African Magic" God-mother ("Voodoo/Hoodoo is like a "bad word"). . .this is an honor NOT usually bestowed upon white people. It was for protection. (and WHAT a ceremony/ritual it was!!!) HOWEVER, I was warned, in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, that I WAS NOT to practice this AT ALL. "White people's not supposed to play around with 'African Magic' and if you do, it'll cost you $500 for me to get you out of the mess you'll make." This is what she told me. I have gone to her for "remedies" and have used the magic by her direction, but I'm not supposed to just get on the internet, look something up and pretend to know what I am doing. I haven't "gone there" and do not plan on it. I respect it. Like a cobra. I follow HER direction if something is "amiss" and don't venture out on "my own" as I have in other magickal practices. There's a vibration, a frequency in it that resonates very dark unless you know what the hell you are doing. Has it worked? Yes - the "remedies" I have asked for have worked as well as the protection. Enemies do not get far and good fortune comes when I remember to honor the spirits at the crossroads. It was a FUN day the day she came out to my house in the middle of white suburbia to place wards and protection on my property - she is the EPITOME of "Mambo" (big headdress, big, ostentatious colorful dress) and you should have seen the looks as people drove past! |

I saw her do things, and could see them work for other people that came in and paid for her services. She wasn't actually born in Haiti, she was born in the US, grew up here her whole life, but she spent some time in Africa , working with the Shamans/Witchdoctors there. She sort of went on a mission to learn the African traditions that had been blended with the Christianity, in it's purest form. It can be used like any "power" generated in a "Ceremony/religous service"..... for Darkeror Lighter purposes...the outcome depends on the initial intention to try and effect change on some matter. I personally have never "participated" in a fullblown Voodoo Ceremony, where people are posessed by the differant "Spirits"....I just never wanted to be there, because to me, it would have been much like being in a Holy Roller Church, where people "start talking in tongues", stuff like that. I never cared for those kind of Churches, so I never wanted to actually be part of an actual " Voodoo ceremony" As to the question about being evil, or not......I think it's like all Religions....if you look closely at them all...they can all be used for either purpose. It depends on the individuals Heart, more than anything else. I think that all these Wars in the World are a good example of just how Religion can be good or evil, depending on the Heart of the person/majority of people , and the intention behind their actual deeds, and way of living. |
