Maybe you're just not accustomed to eating real food without all the shit added. i live in europe, and i can promise, we have a much higher quality of food here than i use to have in the states... for example, they don't allow hormones and all that shit in the beef here... and forget monsanto, no thanks... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1033011 United States 07/16/2010 03:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I like them with crumbled bacon or chopped meat (sausage, ham, spam or fried jowls) and mashed fried eggs all mixed together. Quick or instant grits are an abomination. You have to start with real unprocessed grits and cook them a long time until they're thick and creamy. |
JustOne (OP) User ID: 830980 United States 07/16/2010 03:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | what are grits, if you don't mind me asking? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1033705heard of them. they sound nice. maybe we can do a swap with black pudding? grits are a corn based cereal consisting of finely coarsely grounded hominy (corn- also called white corn, which have had its yellow skin removed) , eaten like oatmeal, corn porridge, cream of wheat. It's eaten for breakfast. Most people like them salty in the Southern U.S. but I like 'em sweet, which is not so common. nice OK, as promised, here's ours.. black pudding.. [link to en.wikipedia.org] I love blood sausages, but depends from where. I've eaten them all over the Americas...from Canada all the way down to Argentina. Some just add too much spice, to something that tastes better a little simpler. I like mine done with a lil hint of citrus. I've tasted the English christmas pudding, it's good . |

I cannot imagine having anything savoury with a dish like that. to each his own. good day to you and your grits. |

Red eye gravy is made after frying the meat and adding a cup of coffee to it. Yummy! I remember if we traveled above the Mason Dixon line, no one knew what grits were. We even have a little town down here is South Ga. that has a GRITS FESTIVAL each year! If you break my wings, I will just find a cloud and learn to fly again. The Lord will catch you when you fall or teach you to fly! May the footprints I leave lead you to BELIEVE. |
