Tom Braden lived with his wife and eight kids in a big yelow two story colonial mansion, with pool, in Chevy Chase Maryland--he wrote the book "Eight is Enough",a best seller that became the popular tv show--his kids were actually much wilder than the family show portrayed--weed, cocaine, heroin were common in their house---they were sexuanlly "precocious" shall we say.
Tom's wife worked for Nelson Rockefelller, , former NY governor and VP , and it was an ill-kept secret that the services she provided him included 'servicing"--so went the rumors, anyway--Nelson was a horny old rich dude who bought--rented anyway--whoever he wanted--he'd make them an offer they couldn't refuse
If you recall, Nelson reportedly died "in the saddle' while visiting one of his office girls--NOT Mrs. Braden--they had to get his pants back on him before the funeral home could come to her apartment to pick him up--as rigor had already set in---it took a while to get the fixers on scene for the cover-up--he was on his knees when he popped off and was hard to unfold to re-clothe and fit into the transit body bag.
Tommy was also a member of the CIA-dominated Washington Post editorial page, under Ben Bradlee, editor, and Sally Quinn, who whispered in ben's ear as he became increasingly dotty.
