The Magi that visited Christ AFTER His birth, were a sect of anciet Jews that followed the phophecied writings of the old testament prophets. More of the bible is about star alignment and "signs and seasons" in the heavens than most people think.

And...they didn't visit Him at His birth, they saw His birth foretold by celestial events as recorded in the scriptures. They set out from Iran and traveled to see Him. That trip, on camel is about 4 months, maybe longer if you have an entourage. And...the planning would've taken time. The Magi probably first met Jesus when He was at least 6 months old.

They were not "astrologers" they were biblically sound and versed men who were guided by fulfilment of prophecy.
