Metallica is one of the most talented bands I have ever witnessed live, but I wanted to punch them during that Napster crap. If only the nimwits understood that I only was turned on to them by someone handing me a bootleg cassette of Kill 'em All and it was that very bootleg that turned me into a person who eventually grew up to be able to purchase every CD and several concert tickets later on. I understand they own the material, but sometimes advertisement is just as valuable. From garage band to pretentious twit. Sad. |

I saw Foreigner a couple years before that but I fell asleep at their concert. The best was a tie between Foofighters and dare I say it, Lenny Kravitz with Pink opening. It was at an outdoor venue over the Columbia river with a full moon in the background and Lenny's afro moving to and fro in a big shadow across the stage. Plus, when Pink sang Janice Joplin it was magic. Still, the Foofighters were one of the few bands who were better live than recorded. |
