Funny cause I quit Anne Rice a few years ago when I read the authors note to her book about Jesus, She insulted all her loyal fans of years in the note and called us all a bunch of hell bound sinners basically and said she could give a damn about her readers as long as she had gods love.....SO be it

Anne Rice has written enough vampire books and made enough popular drivel to be making money until she dies without writing another book.

she wrote several Christ the King books, with exquisite historical scholarship concerning the past, the situations, and anything that would have contributed to her characterizations. she's just that good.

I suspect, like most other thinking folk, that she got sick of stupid people on a pulpit sitting on a holy high horse and making it seem as if it was God's will streaming out of their mouth.

Good for her. I hope she follows her heart and faith wherever it takes her.

Call me daft, but where was there any prophecy of freedom from the Romans?

You do NOT need to be part of a MAN MADE organization to follow Jesus/God/Christ.

How many of you REALLY believe that your minister/priest/rabbi/pastor/etc is passing along the message of YOUR god? Whatever god that might be?

You can have all the faith in the world that what you hear in church/temple/etc is the inspired word of your creator, but you have no way of knowing that. I once had faith that my ministers spoke the word of God, but I came to realize that they ALL have an agenda of some sort. Some are in it for the money (or not having to pay taxes). Some are in it for the high of being in control of others. Some are delusional human beings, period.


Anne Rice quit her vampire/witch writing so she could become a Christian (whatever she believed that to be.. whatever she believed God/Christ wanted her to believe that to be). She then was told that gay people are sinners, women have no rights, etc.. Basically she learned real quick that MAN makes up the rules. Organized religion is all about fear, hatred of those who are "different", judging others, and so on. So frankly, I applaud her decision to quit.

I believe in God, and I have NO belief in man. You can be a good person, loved by God/Christ/Jesus without stepping foot in a building each week.

Likewise, one cannot quit Christianity and still be loyal to Christ!

GREAT! We did the same 6 years ago. Stopped with the circus and the games. Have never had a better relationship with Him and Have learned truth from fiction....

anyway...welcome to the realm of just knowing Christ and Him crucified...and to a place of amazing grace and rest as HE teaches you and guides you to a deeper walk with Him.

I am not a Christian...I am a believer in Jesus and His death, burial, and resurrection...and a receiver of the GIFT of salvation that He alone bought and paid for for me...I did nothing to earn it and acquire it...He just gave it to me because He loves me. I am a blessed woman...a believing child of God...BUT I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION OR OF ORGANIZED RELIGION OF ANY TYPE.
