Take a good multi-mineral supplement and immediately start taking a few thousand mg. of vitamin C (4000 or 5000) or more, it won't hurt you a bit. It strengthens your veins and arteries whether you believe me or not. Do not strain excessively when you take a shit above all. START EATING RIGHT!!!

Witch Hazel works much better than Preparation H, it's an astringent and will shrink the inflammation right away, just soak a wad of toilet paper and leave it in your crack to soak for about five minutes and every time you make a bowel movement, get some stool softeners as well.

Drink plenty of water. Preh H suppositories, wipes, cream (with pain reliever). Something on Amazon call Anuice. It's something you keep in the freezer that's a little hemorrhoid cold pack. You should also get one of those small soft freezer packs to tuck up against the outside just for externals. Warm baths plus removable shower heads directed on the area. Diarrhea? Kaopectate. Constipation? Water. One shot of Metamucile a day. There are also some prescription strength creams and supps. You need an arsenal. Sometimes one thing works and sometimes something else works. Some days it seems like nothing works. When you're at that point, head for the bath for sure. Con't strain, don't leave 'em out, drink lots of water, the object is to get them to go back in as soon as possible. A cotton ball soaked with Witch Hazel.

I had hard stools for a few days as I hab been camping out and not eating properly for a few days. Yup. Get some probiotics. And take about 500 mg of magnesium to make bowel movements easier until you heal up. It will make the stool softer and most people aren't getting enough magnesium anyway so this won't hurt you. If you get the runs then back off on the amount of magnesium you are taking. And don't take it every day. Just on an as needed basis.
