Latest news is that she is trying to speak, and has moved a finger.

Family Plans Legal Action In Thrill Ride Accident
12-Year-Old May Never Walk Again

MADISON, Wis -- The family of a 12-year-old girl who was injured after an accident at a thrill ride in Lake Delton last week said on Tuesday that they plan to pursue legal action against the amusement park.

video VIDEO: Watch Family's Press Conference

The family of Teagan Marti, of Parkland, Fla., said the girl is communicating with them, but they're not sure if she'll ever walk again. The girl was released from a platform 100 feet in the air at Extreme World in Lake Delton last Friday, but the net that was supposed to catch her didn't.

Police said that operators of the free-fall ride failed to raise a catch net 40 feet above ground, causing the girl to fall 100 feet and hit the ground.

Family members spoke at a press conference on Tuesday morning and said they now plan to pursue legal action against the company.

"We signed a waiver, but we signed a waiver for them to drop her into a net,"

That's just terrible! Praying for a completel and total, swift and speedy recovery...

It IS possible...

I have a friend who fell 100 feet from rocks in the Arizona desert.. she broke quite a few bones, but you'd never know it to see her today and she walks around just fine... the power of prayer...

Her family was on the local news here and asked for as many prayers as possible, so I posted here. I am sure they appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers.

Ok. I'm sorry this girl got hurt. Really I am.
But does anyone else think that this is why we are naturally afraid of falling? That it causes injury and pain? That maybe, just maybe, doing stupid things like free falling from a dangerous height is well, against nature and possibly....DANGEROUS?

Having been a working adult and realizing how inherently lazy people are it really suprises me that we don't have more of these accidents.

I thank God and the doctors for this girl's recovery, yet I still would like to slap the parents for thier negligence in allowing the child to participate in such a dangerous stupid thing.

I guess. This was not a carnival. It is a permanent family run business. The owner was practically in tears during the interview. The state had inspected and approved the netting back in May.

you have to be 14 and up to ride this ride. So what parent would let a 12 year old ride it?
I was there less than two weeks ago and i would not let my kids ride on any of there rides!
I hope she makes it, but if you r dumb to ride this ride and many like it then this will keep happening.
Rides 1st off have to be safe, even with this ride passing inspection it only take one small thing to make it not work.
it aether failed to work or someone failed to push a button/lever.
This may make me look bad in some eyes but were is the commen cents of people to not do things that can kill you.
parents should be held libel for this also!

The park is on the hook for their dipshit operator but the ride designers are the ones that are going to end up coughing up the majority of the damages. No ride should be designed to allow something like this from happening. The good doctor was right; this is 2010 not 1980! Liability damages have been around long enough to thwart this dangerously poor engineering from ever seeing a market place. With a name like Terminal Velocity, you would think they would have thought of something like this. I am disgusted! I am also disgusted that anyone would imply that the parents were negligent in any way. It is every parents nightmare that a ride that they expect to be safe is not. This could have been a consenting adult and the insane negligence would be the same.

MILWAUKEE -

A Florida teen injured in a Wisconsin amusement park ride finally got to meet the companion dog that actor Charlie Sheen is funding.

Teagan Marti suffered brain, spine, pelvis and internal injuries when nets and air bags that were supposed to catch her were not raised in 2010. She was paralyzed initially but can now walk with a walker.

Sheen wired $10,000 to the family in February after a family friend helped contact Sheen for help.

WTF!

The ride is dropping a person 60 feet into a net??????

That does not sound like a ride, that sounds like a bunch of drunk rednecks with to much time and resources.

Hope she gets better.
