GAY REPULICAN JUDGE: CA BAN ON GAY MARRIAGE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL - WTF?
Can you beliefe this...

[link to www.latimes.com]

"SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage Thursday in a broadly worded decision that would invalidate virtually any law that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation.

The 4-3 ruling declared that the state Constitution protects a fundamental "right to marry" that extends equally to same-sex couples. It tossed a highly emotional issue into the election year while opening the way for tens of thousands of gay people to wed in California, starting as early as mid-June.

The majority opinion, by Chief Justice Ronald M. George, declared that any law that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation will from this point on be constitutionally suspect in California in the same way as laws that discriminate by race or gender, making the state's high court the first in the nation to adopt such a stringent standard."

"Biography

Walker was born in Watseka, Illinois in 1944, and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1966 and Stanford Law School in 1970.[1] After serving as a law clerk for United States District Court for the Central District of California judge Robert J. Kelleher from 1971 to 1972, he practiced in San Francisco at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro from 1972 until his September 7, 1989, nomination by President George H. W. Bush to a seat on the federal district court vacated by Spencer M. Williams.[1] Walker was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 21, 1989, on unanimous consent and received commission on November 27, 1989. Walker is one of two federal judges publicly known to be gay.[2]
Views

Walker believes in a legal approach known as law and economics.[3]

Walker's original nomination to the bench by Ronald Reagan in 1987 stalled in the Senate Judiciary Committee because of controversy over his representation of the United States Olympic Committee in a lawsuit that prohibited the use of the title "Gay Olympics".[4] Two dozen House Democrats, led by Rep. Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, opposed his nomination because of his alleged "insensitivity" to gays and the poor. Years later, the San Francisco Chronicle noted the irony of this opposition due to Walker's sexual orientation.[5]

Walker is an "unorthodox" and "independent-minded conservative" judge who has called for auctioning lead counsel status in securities class actions and for the legalization of drugs.[4]

A San Francisco Chronicle columnist and reporter wrote in a commentary that Walker has an "aversion to harsh sentences for well-educated, well-heeled criminals and, in particular, perpetrators of securities fraud."[6]

Wired magazine describes Walker as having libertarian leanings.[7]"

Why'd they even vote? Libtard judges will continue to make the rules one verdict at a time.

sign of the times, hasnt anyone realized that christians are being demonized? that many are falling away to political correctness? being mislead with false teachings that sound like doctrine? and that due to popularity and status they do it willingly? goats and sheep, he came to divide, many are called, few are chosen. an illusion so powerful it could even affect the very elect if they wasnt protected.

gird yourselves well.
Christians have had to face and realize their own sins, and feel compelled to try and help others as well.

This chant of Holier than thou is wrong and is taught by others making you think what is cool or acceptable to them.

The thought of "believe as i do" is strongly in an unbelievers life, because they feel they will be ridiculed by their friends.

Every falsehood a unbeliver weilds, is merely a reflection of the obstacles that unbeliever must face from his very own peers.

Unbelievers are the true followers, they are dedicated to fear of what other people think of them.

And because of this, they are ashamed of themselves, but wall themselves up to feel comfortable and safe, assuring themselves with rationality and laughter.

Which is insanity!

It's rediculous to even bother to vote. We've known this on GLP, but this proves it. One appointed judge can over rule the voters. 7 million vs one person. It's too sad and corrupt. I'm actually thinking about throwing in the towel. I say Uncle and give up. I won't though.

Federal court should have no say in the state constitution.

Well, yes, I can "beliefe" it. That particular article is from May of 2008. It has exactly *zero* to do with the current case with respect to Prop 8, and Judge Walker wasn't even involved in that decision.
