thanks. it's true. i have a hard time staying away from carbs, tho. switched over to good fats a few years ago and it's made a big difference.
It's only hard to begin with .... once the body switches over it gets easier. I can't imagine ever eating more than 20 gm of carbs a day again.
I never crave them and hardly ever feel hungry. I try to eat 5 medium sized meals a day just to keep my system ticking over.
Quoting: Sc0rp10n 1062121Many thanks, v interesting indeed! I'm a 6 foot bloke and I just started the Atkins 2 weeks ago and have dropped from a disgusting (too much beer!) 293 lbs to 278, stalled on 278 the last 3-4 days tho, weird. I have had the flu-like symptoms for 2 weeks too, as you say I think it is withdrawl from the way I was eating - weird thing is my skin on face has gone a bit spotty, dunno if it is too much olive oil or what, I'm thinking I may be getting rid of toxinds as Im eating much more healthily. I am VERY interested in your ratios tho, will check out the links. What will confuse me tho is tring to work out how much everything weighs in grams, is the only solution buying a scale and weighing everything? Gonna be impractical eating out, LOL!
