The FED's are forcing fishermen in the gulf to sign a waiver that releases BP from ALL liability if the catch is contaminated. AND...the fishermen personally have to accept ALL liability if their catch is poisoned from the spill or the corexit! [link to blog.alexanderhiggins.com] ;o if true this is just retarded. pin for blatant WTFness :idol1: :hiding: :idol1: |

Scientists and fishermen who are reporting that their catches are covered in oil and that heavy amounts of contaminates are still in the water...are being told to shut up. Research organizations are being put out of business and places are being forced under contract by the feds to submit to BP's media rules, which include...no answering the feds in court proceedings unless BP allows it. And now...on top of all that crap, the Feds are providing one more way for BP to be released from liability by forcing the small business man fishermen to take on ALL responsibility if his or her catch if contaminated from the BP oil spill or the corexit used to half ass clean it up. And here we sit...dumbfounded |

BP's claims are offset by "income that was reasonably available." Government opens fishing grounds. This is a gambit - win-win for BP, lose-lose for the fishermen. Choice A - Commercial fishermen won't sign waivers and won't fish if the seafood is contaminated. BP will then offset their claims by the amount they "reasonably would have earned" had they signed the waivers and begun fishing. The fishermen lose money because they "could" have fished the newly opened waters. Choice B - Commercial fishermen sign the waivers and fish and sell contaminated fish, destroying their careers because no one will eat Gulf seafood for years. BP's waiver gets BP off the hook for this loss of income. This is a sick game that BP is playing and the Feds obviously have their back. Members of Congress from those Gulf districts must fight back. In order for them to do that, residents of Gulf districts need to make a stink about this. The ONLY hope is that the waivers will be invalidated because the fisherman are not given a choice but to sign them. |

In the OLDEN DAYS the southerners would have dealt with this like MEN. |

I wouldn't sign it and class action suit them, and kill a few corrupt pig judges on my down time too. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ From ED TV (1999) I feel that Ed (TV) is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is now a moral good in this country. It's its own virtue. |

Yup...we wonder how presidents come out of office extremely rich? Because their under the table deals are completely untraceable and for the most part uninvestigated. Contributions to accounts that aren't in their names, etc. Bunch of BS |
