Re: BREAKING: British museum evacuated because of "gas incident"
To be honest, I would expect at least some common sense -

If I was the manager of the Museum and needed to replace various objects with fake copies I would not go about it by forcing the public out during opening hours... I would do it at night when the place is closed and nobody but staff would be inside. ;/

British Museum evacuated in 'gas incident'

Visitors were escorted out of the imposing building shortly after 1pm.

It is not believed anybody required hospital treatment as a result but investigators are currently inside trying to determine the cause of the scare.

A Met police spokesman said: "The museum has been evacuated as a precaution.

"A few people reported a funny smell on the premises and had mild irritation to the throat and eyes.

"No treatment from paramedics was necessary and we do not know at this stage the cause of it (More at link)

Re: BREAKING: British museum evacuated because of "gas incident"
You could do it in the dead of night sure, that means you need the cooperation of the establishment. Which means potential leaks of information, which also means shutting down security systems and producing a record for the event.

Common sense would suggest that doing most things in the dead of night, but being that of the real world. Doing things in the dead of night don't mean you won't sound the alarm.

It's always in broad daylight where everyone can see yet noone see's shit.

I posted the theory as a thought to play around with. What I believe I keep to myself. It's a great exercise for the mind to come up with innovative theories. Even if the event was accidental, you can't rule out the implausible.

Food for thought!

Understand?
If your happy and you know it clap your hands!

Chemical leak causes sickness in multiple patrons at MGM Grand pool in Vegas

At least 26 MGM Grand pool patrons were transported to local hospitals today after a chemical leak sickened dozens of customers. The chemical was sodium hypochlorite ( similar to household bleach, but in very strong concentrations) that seeped into the Lazy River pool when a malfunctioning valve remained open allowing high quantities of the chemical to enter the pool and surrounding air.

If someone maliciously introduced a noxious gas into the air conditioning system of one of Britain's most popular visitor attractions then it's a big deal.

Conspiracy Theory

This was caused on purpose. To take original artifacts and replace them with fakes. Why?

Because we need to preserve these for the future of humanity in the D.U.M.B's.

If the planet is in danger of any kind or suspicion of danger than we should see some more events like this.

Just food for thought!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1082019

Rather simple: evacuate everybody. You have a govt. team already prepostioned on the premises which then goes to work removing artifacts for transport to DUMBS. The originals are replaced with replicas before the building is said to be safe for the public to return.

The transport of originals might occur anytime during the evacuation, or anytime another day.

Thing is, unless the items to be removed were few in number, it would take quite awhile for the op to complete, wouldn't it? Will the building be closed for hours, or days? Are many items being removed, or only a handful?

Guys, a glp'er from London's just started a thread relating to chinook helicopters flying over London: Thread: Miltary helicopters flying over London

If this is happening today, the choppers might be involved in transporting artifacts to DUMBS.
