HURRICANE EARL STRENGTHENS INTO A CATEGORY THREE HURRICANE

jeez, well ahead of projections! this is going to be a problem!

I think it MAY threaten the East Coast of the US, but is projected to remain at sea.

The Eastern US is still in the cone, and the track keeps shifting further and further west.

It's sounding like it all depends on the timing of the front coming through from the West. Hopefully it will be just in the nick of time to steer it away!

im not trained, but have been correct with other hurricanes where they did not go as expected and i put them going in other directions....

i certainly hope that this stays out east, but believe this thing is heading to FL, near Miami and may even get out into eastern Gulf.

i see it being pushed more west for a while which will take it further west...

if anyone knows why i am wrong, please explain exactly what is going to push it north quickly....thanks.

The quicker it intensifies, the more jog to the right it'll take.

I'd be worrying more if Earl was intensifying closer to the Eastern Coast than where it is at the moment, thats no to say it doesn't have the potential to "wobble" in its forecast track, and cause a forecasting headache right up until Saturday.

East Coast better keep a look out for this guy....

I'm in RI so I am keeping an eye on it but still feel it will go by to the east leaving us on the west side of the storm which is the weakest. It may rain and get windy but that's about it.

The GOM lucked out yet again!!

I think what's happening is that the front that was anticipated to sweep across the Great Lakes and steer the storm away is now riding more northward allowing the weakness to remain more to the West. This coupled with the strengthened storm is keeping it on a more westward path. I think it's going to be a close call as to whether there will be a landfall.

Patience! All computer models have been WRONG in the last 36 hours. Earl has tracked 5 degrees farther WEST since their predicted track, lastnight! And, the Great Lake front is tracking S/N, with little easterly movement!

THEY ARE ALL GUESSING!

i'll be the first to say,

if anyone needs help, i'll drive up in my chevy tahoe and rescue them..

i'll drive right over those waters in my big chevy tahoe and save those poor people!!
