Re: Bright light in Night Sky
I am hesitant to post in that other thread as it appears to have degenerated into a gang bash and totally derailing from the subject of the light, whatever the light is.

I stated yesterday that I would try and find a compass so I could get a direction for the light.

It is currently 6.31 pm and that star is shinning brightly at slightly north east... Dunno how to give you the precise heading, but the needle when I am facing the light is just slightly past the north towards the east.

So there is the direction from my view point in Hawkes Bay, North Island, New Zealand.

Could be Jupiter as someone stated last night. But I definitely know it is not venus, mars, or the space station going overhead.

When orion's belt sets I will try and get a placement in regards to it.

Cheers!.

Free planetarium software - Very Nice program.

Put in your location, and you'll have a 360 of your sky anytime of day.

Oh, just because it twinkles doesn't mean it's actually a star. There are imposters up there. For real.

Oh yes Texas, I am well aware of that.... Having been an experiencer all of my life since earliest recall. :D

I am simply stating that I do not know what this light is. Could be a planet. Could be an "imposter" Guess time will tell. hf

In the Southern Hemisphere Orion doesn't seem to rise until immediately before dawn... but check out Stellarium, it will help a lot.

If you are in New Zealand then Pupiter is low in the sky and just north of east at sunset. It is rising so it will be getting higher in the sky and drifting northward through the night.

I knew you meant Jupiter.. but it immediately is not low in the sky... looked to me to be about 1pm if you were to view the sky as a clock face.

Re: Re: Bright light in Night Sky
there is no aliens out there

nobody is coming ufotards

The plan to create an artificial extraterrestrial threat to the Earth
was first mentioned by John Dewey in New York during 1917 in a speech
to the visiting Japanese Imperial Delegation headed by Viscount Ishii.
The premise was tested for credibility with the CBS presentation of
"The War Of The Worlds" by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre on
October 30, 1938. The public believed it was real thus setting the
stage for the implementation of an alien threat scenario... the only
problem was that the state of the art of technology at that time did
not allow for a believable presentation. The development of saucer
shaped wingless and tailless flying machines by the Germans during
WW-II solved the problem.

very bright tonight.
Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

Ok, now I see a star that is bright red and is directly East. And slightly West of the moon. I dont know if thats capella or something else ! Last I remember Capela was more North east, but this bright red star is directly East. And west (left of the moon) of the moon and a little lower.
