Does short hairstyle make one look young?

Just curious. You hear so much about long haired older women, and I'm just curious to find the truth.

on a chick it makes her look queer

I don't think it matters OP.

When you're old, you're old no matter how long your hair is.

But I think it's more about keeping it colored rather than the length of it that keeps a few years off one's age.

Not really, not if you AREN'T young. Short hair can look very matronly if not cut right and edgy enough. Longer (Not granola hippy long) on older women can look really good. I'm talking no longer than shoulder length here. Too much longer and it will drag you down.

And color that grey unless you want to look like a meemaw.

Yes it does, when I cut my hair short when I was young, I couldn't buy without showing ID until it grew back out.

I've never had short hair btw - doesn't suit me but I keep it shoulder length or a few inches longer.

I think that short hair can look great if one has great bone structure, otherwise I'm not a fan. I've been blessed with great hair so I like it a bit longer.

My hair is past my waist, I was thinking of cutting it but I've had it this way for so long, it would be a big change for me.

If you feel the need for a change you don't have to go extreme Gemi...it will always grow back if you don't like it.

Well, I have long hair half way down my back, but I pull it up into a perky half way pony tail, with bangs. I dunno, I'm just geting tired of the look. My hair is blonde.

But how hard is that to maintain daily?

I think it's the other way around.

I have a babyface and short haircuts always make me look older.

My hair grows fast [I have health problems and take prescription vitamins] so I'm pretty vigilante about getting my hair cut. When the style starts to grow out I notice the difference immediately.


BTW, looking younger isn't so awesome. People rarely take me seriously. Getting handed the children's menu on a date is no ego boost, that's for sure!

Short hair or long hair? I agree with short hair.

I love some hair on a woman, the too short hair isn't good!

I love short hair on women. You need to know it requires going to thesalon
every 6 to 8 weeks. You must also NOT ALLOW any hairdresser to cut your hair.

Getting a short, sleek and sexy cuts requires artistry. You must also choose the correct cut according to your face shape.

The correct color is a must. You should choose a solid color UNLESS you have grey, in that case put highlights all over.

I wear a short spiky pixie and keep it a white blond. I frame around my face
and fringe it out very chopped.

I've had my hair long and many women know how long it takes to dry and style 45mins to an hour. Then you apply makeup and your hair you just spent almost an hour fixing sweats down. Not to mention the ton of gel, spray and hair product that makes your hair helmet hard.

I love my short and sexy style and although I've been married 25 years, I have very attractiveand well to do men men approch me every time I go out with friends.

I do what makes me feel and look good. I really don't give a s*** what anyone thinks. It takes me an hour to get completly ready from shower,hair and makeup.

This works for jeans or full cocktail regatta.

This website has many different short styles from short and cropped to chin length, and ALWAYS throw some FUNK into the cut.

You're not gonna fool very many people either way. Some of us got ugly gray streaks instead of "silver". It's hard to keep long hair colored without it getting dull/frizzy looking. There are exceptions, of course, but gray hair tends to be coarser and do things your regular hair never did before. I think one of the most aging things is a 40 year old-hairstyle and old-fashioned make-up. The very-latest style just looks like you're trying too hard, but at least join this century.

A gammon 18 year old with pixie hair might look young, while a sixty year old -- not so much.

I have long,past my shoulders, naturally curly hair. I am approaching my 57th birthday.
I do dye my hair, as the transitional color change from dark brown to gray/silver is not to my liking. While it is less of a hassle to just let it go gray, I really prefer to keep it dyed dark brown until it all finishes changing from dark brown to gray/silver. When it finally starts coming out all gray/silver, I will quit dying it, but I will still keep it longer.
If you have a problem with frizziness or dry hair, try a super moisturizing conditioner, and leave it on twice as long as recommended on the label. For between shampoos frizziness, try spraying some detangler on your hair, wet your hands with WARM water, and runs your fingers through your hair, to spread out the detangler. Comb it out, but wet your comb with warm water before you comb your hair. Cool water has a tendancy to make the frizz worse, so always use warm water.

7. well really its your old skin that makes u look old. If youre really that concerned and you look your age or older, plastic surgery is your best bet. Still, dont do it. I wouldnt recommend it.
