You may be right in taking such a defeatist attitude. Perhaps though, if Joel Salatin can do it (sustainable animal agriculture) in a conservative state like Virginia, other animal ranchers elsewhere can do it if they put their full energies into it. I suggest that the conduit see the recently released documentaries Food Inc. and Fresh starring sustainable farming advocates like Michael Pollen, Eric Schlosser, Joel Salatin and Will Allen.

Also, i'm not sure about your statement that the public "needs" their meat since I haven't eaten meat in over 8 years and i believe i'm pretty healthy. however, i've been told that people with different blood types/constitutions have different dietary needs, and i'm willing to accept that. in fact, maybe you could shed a little light on the matter of blood type and diet (or if there are any other considerations that determine one's ideal diet). Why is it that people have different blood types? i haven't don't much research on the issue of blood types.
