There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust," ageing revolutionary tell U.S. journal The Atlantic. Cuba's former leader Fidel Castro has urged Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to stop slandering the Jews, according to an article published on the U.S. website The Atlantic on Tuesday. Castro told The Atlantic that the Iranian government should understand the consequences anti-Semitism. "This went on for maybe two thousand years," he said. "I don't think anyone has been slandered more than the Jews. I would say much more than the Muslims. They have been slandered much more than the Muslims because they are blamed and slandered for everything. No one blames the Muslims for anything." He added: "The Jews have lived an existence that is much harder than ours. There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust." Asked by Goldberg if he would repeat his comments to Ahmadinejad, Castro said. "I am saying this so you can communicate it." [link to www.haaretz.com] I´m surprised by Castro siding with the american ally Israel on this one, but he seems to think that Ahmadinejad has gone too far and his warnings about nuclear war are directed to U.S. and Iran, both of them. That's the smartest thing Castro has ever said...didn't think he had it in him. You know you fucked up if Castro is telling you to knock it off |

Because Cuba is on the verge of a radical change. Castro has ruled Cuba during the last 4-5 decades and every thing he says and does is going to be major news. Castro is very old and he has lived too long to know what is really going on with the world affairs. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1092512 Spain 09/07/2010 07:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Castro: Ahmadinejad "anti-semitic" He said Castro, who himself has been a fierce critic of Israel, "repeatedly returned to his excoriation of anti-Semitism," chiding Ahmadinejad for denying the Holocaust. Castro said that Iran could further the cause of peace by "acknowledging the 'unique' history of anti-Semitism and trying to understand why Israelis fear for their existence." The gray-bearded revolutionary related to Goldberg a story from his childhood that has been detailed by some biographers: that he overheard classmates saying Jews killed Jesus Christ. "I didn't know what a Jew was. I knew of a bird that was a called a 'Jew,' and so for me the Jews were those birds," Goldberg quoted Castro as telling him. Castro later added, "This is how ignorant the entire population was." [link to www.google.com] Castro siding with Israel and blasting Iran´s president as antisemitic. I really think that this add more seriousness to his previous warning about a nuclear war. |

Castro is so full of shit - this is downright embarrassing. Jews as a group have been expelled in mass from European countries at regular intervals for 2000 years. Ask why. Judaism is an economic system parading as a religion. The object is to economic control at the expense of their host country. Shit, here in the US, they have gone one further. They are destroying our national fabric. |

Now when people criticize Israel a clear line can be drawn between us and the nutjubs. Thanks Fidel,,,, |
