TEXAS: Frequent lightning targets San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- A line of thunderstorms on the tail end of what was Tropical Storm Hermine is bringing a frequent lightning show across the Downtown area tonight.

The storms are nearing the area and will be overhead by fifteen after midnight, local San Antonio time. The area was already hit the hardest with Hermine in terms of damaging winds and torrential downpours so lets add frequent lightning to the mix.

Interested readers should be careful as this line may contain frequent cloud to ground lightning.

These lightning storms are a constant threat to America. Who knows what could happen because of them. Imagine one night when you are happily laying on your couch taking your daily dose of Glenn Beck when suddenly your house burns down from lightning.

I say nuke the heavens!!!

A little over 2 hours north of here. (San Antonio)

We started seeing the storm about 11pm. About and hour or 2 later, the winds followed. Pretty strong..
