New Quake in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
It appears the Christchurch shake has unsettled other fault lines.

Napier had two quakes on Tues day. It just came over the news that it has had another one. 5.3 this time. The size is increasing...

What interesting times we live in eh!

Well, I certainly believe something has started. Even our Prime Minister stated on national tv the night the quake happened, that there had been a world wide increase in large quakes this year! Obviously an unguarded statement. Interesting though.

Be careful what you ask for AC. You may not like what you get.

Re: New Quake in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
This activity here in Christchurch is not normal for us, but it is absolutely normal for such a large earthquake. Before the big one I didn't feel one single earthquake in nearly 3 years. Now a 4.0 is nothing, unless it is close and shallow.

What happened near Littleton yesterday and today in Hawks Bay might be a different story, as it is not the same faultline...

Yep usual after a big quake. However, the quakes in the north island are on a different fault line.
