Of course it would take for ever for it to disappear. Its just broken up. I saw some of it on the BP oil spill area the oil looked like it was frozen. I think this is what the disperant did. Froz it and it went to the bottom.

This is backed up by an article in Nature Mag. The link is at the source above. There is a NEW oil plume they have discovered - off the sea floor.

Depending on who you believe, the ocean floor itself is leaking due to human industrial intervention... so this could be the new normal in the GOM.

Someone posted some info claiming insider knowledge that there are currently 38 non-natural or industrially enhanced seeps on the GOM floor centering around the Deepwater Horizon wellheads and the Biloxi Dome.

No specific knowledge or links to back this claim up but depending on how much oil they find now that they are being allowed (by TPTB that want to impact the election) to scientifically study this in an independent way it may simply not make sense to attribute the quantity of oil present in the various strata of the GOM to a 7" pipe leaking oil for 90 something days no matter how high the flow was (ala Matt Simmons).

We will see... my theory is that the next few months leading up to the election will be GOM truth leak city...

Last I was updated, the oil has been settling in the deepest area of the gulf and forms a "plume" (what a stupid term), 400 miles long, 80 miles wide and 2 MILES deep. And the gulf is more than 2 miles deep in it's deepest areas. so as you can see this region is possibly more oil than water now, depending on the density of the "plume"
