Nobody should need their ego stoked. If you are good at something, that should be enough. Why would you need a woman batting her eyelashes at you and telling you how great you are?

That aside, I agree that strong women can be intimidating. Let's face it, if these guys are so insecure that they need ego boosting, then it only stands to reasong that a strong, independent, intelligent, and beautiful woman is WAY out of their league.

Re: Male egos, and strong, independant women...
No matter how much you tell yourself you're not in competition with men it is a competition. I didn't say you designed this competition, but you do play the game.

What is your definition of femininity? The definitions and roles have been reverse in many ways.Straight men largely don't like the new rules.

That's why (as quiet as it's kept) women are marrying gay men.

How can I get out of the game?
Because I never wanted to be part of it , at any time....just wanted to be me, and live my life the way that makes me happy....like all humans strive to do.

We all get out of the game by becoming aware of it. I think achievement is great. And if you're and artist, then you are an artist even if you don't make all that money.

We have to go back to being just being men and women. And that doesn't mean oppression of women. Feminism would have us all believe that all men throughout history hated women and never fought along side you.

Most men love their daughters and sisters. I have often told my women friends (some of whome are very agree), make allies of men.We all have needs(very human needs). We relate to women first through our mother's. I know this sucks for some women, but you are the nurturer on this planet.

That is the gift of the feminine. You don't have to have a child to express this gift. This planet needs that gift. The material system is falling.I think this will be hardest for women in many ways. Most men I know will rejoice!

Return to the spiritual nature of masculine and feminine. Balance.

I am looking very forward to the day that this happens....when we can all just go back to being men and women, without all this other crap messing stuff up.
I feel in my heart, it is coming....
But living in the here and now, we are forced to be a part of this even if we don't want to, because that is what is surrounding us these days.
Some of my Native Spiritual friends say that it is Women that will usher in the New World, that it will be born of Femanine energy, and that the energy fields here on Mother are already changing...and it's messing with the men badly.
They say that is why so many men are 'metrosexual', bisexual, having problems with impotence.....because the Earth is being flooded by this Femanine Energy.
They say it's creating great anxiety in them, making them act out in ways they normally don't, because it is so foreign to them...
They also say that another cause of this is all the female Hormones that are in the water supply ( from women taking birth contrl pills), in the food we eat, given to the animals to make them more fertile, reproduce quicker...
Yes, the natural order of things are very messed up....and I'm ready to step outside of it all, when the opportunity comes. It just isn't here yet....but it's coming.

This thread is interesting to me. After a few years of being a SAHM, I am back out in the world and although my husband is supportive, he takes a lot of credit for my success.
I have started my own business that has really taken off, and he takes the credit when someone gives me a pat on the back. It's kind of amusing, because he gets called on it and gets upset...
Being a SAHM when my children are in school all day, is not for me.

Oh come on Op! Go for the 23 yo. A 20 year age gap is workable.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1099304

LOL... I know from experience a 20 year gap is not a workable thing.
My son's sperm donor was 20 years older than me...and it didn't work at all!!!!

I do usually end up dating younger people though...just seem to have more in common with them than I do people my own age.
My inner child is alive and well...and still loves to come out and play...
Music is generally what brings me new , younger friends....because I love music, and am always listening to new stuff coming out.
I'm sick of the stuff I grew up listening to, and most people my age, stop listening to music after they get out of high school, or college.

Guys that date older women are:

A) looking for a guaranteed, easy lay.

B) looking for a mother figure (subconsciously)

I've never understood why people have to do stuff like this...instead of it causing jealousy, or insecurity, they should be PROUD of you for what you are contributing!

I had an incident like this with my sign partner.
We were a couple...and when we first met, and started the business, it was great.
I apprenticed under her to really learn the sign industry, and I brought my award winning fine art skills with me, to add to the signs.
Everything was great for about 5 years....then when I was just as capable a sign person as she was, and I was getting write ups in the paper about my signs/murals with the awesome artwork, had people driving across state to get me to paint their signs, developed my own client base that just wanted me to do the work.....her ego got the best of her.
She started taking credit for my work!
When I'd call her on it infront of others, she would just shut her mouth....but it would happen again.
It finally got to the point where she was so jealous/intimidated, that every time I'd go to the shop to work, she'd start a huge fight with me, making it impossible for me to work.
She should have been happy....that she taught me so well!
That was a huge accomplishment!!!
She had her own strengths that were important to the overall well being of the business.
She was a Hell of a salesperson!
The woman could truly sell ice cubes to eskimos, and leave them smiling and happy about it!
Together, we made an awesome team, that had so much work, we couldn't do it all.
It has always made me sad that EGO got in the way, and destroyed something so good.

Pretty much....I raised my son with no financial or emotional support from the sperm donor.
I did have some help though, from the people in my life, like my Dad.
He was a father to my son...
My wife I had for 8 years, that helped me support him, provide a home for him, was there every day to help me when he came home from school...

The older woman/younger man dynamic is becoming more common (eg. Demi/Ashton) and can work.

There are men of all ages that look for a guaranteed, easy lay from a woman of any age.

It depends on what the individual is looking for & qualifying them. Anything is possible, but then again, no guarantees either.

If you've been thinking about it, and there are younger guys interested...I say, 'give it a try'!..:)
They are more fun, because life hasn't beaten them down...and they are still physically in shape, so you can do stuff like going hiking, or in a row boat..
They have plenty of energy for sex too...;)
And...from what they tell me, they really like older women because we are 'secure in our sexuality'...we know what we like, and aren't shy to just 'do it'.
Most of the men in my age group, make me feel like I'm on a date with my Grandpa.....because they have not taken care of themselves physically, and look about 80...and their mindset of "I'm too old" to do that ( like going to see a Death metal Concert).

I hope your friend is very happy with her younger partner...:)
I've never understood why it's so taboo for women to have a younger lover...but it has been perfectly acceptable for men to do this forever!

I always ask the younger man why they are interested in dating an older woman...
And besides the women being more secure in their sexuality, and knowing what they like, and not being shy about it...
The next biggest answer to my question is always this :
We like older women because they don't like to play a bunch of games, aren't into a bunch of 'drama'.
Also...older women are more stable in relationships.
A young man that is looking for a long term stable relationship appears to have problems with women their own ages.
Say that they just want to date a bunch of differant people, aren't interested in settling down with 1 person....why they are more interested in an older woman.

OP I'm sure that your experience has been just as you've described.Though I'm afraid it's a bit more complicated than that. The entire dynamic between men and women has been tampered with and redesgned in a way that is not balance.

Women seem to love the way things have turned out because they get to have all the benefits that patriarchy has provided many men(not all).

The reason women are doing better than men right is largely by the elitists design.

Yeah, I feel you are right about it being more complicated, probably a tree with roots so deep we'll never be able to see them all.

Personally, I have a love/hate relationship with this whole "women's equality" thing.
While it has been good on some issues....it's messing up some very basic structures in Society.
I'd be happy as a clam, living like in the old days...stay at home and take care of the house and kids.....just so long as I was allowed to Create, still.
We, as a Society, are having a lot of problems with all this change....and it dosen't seem to really be getting much better.
It almost seems like there is hostility lurking under the surface that is growing.
 Quoting: Woodsprite

One thing is for sure, the elites design has and still is being carried out on both men and women.......and it seems to be working very well! I am definitely a traditional male, offspring of Depression era parents will create that! I am 44yrs. old and have been married to the same woman for over 25yrs., we have 7 children together, no other marriages or children with other partners! All though we've had our ups and downs financially, we've continued to perservere! My wife has not worked hardly at all thru our marriage so far and all the kids make good grades in school and are basically pretty good kids! We've learned to sacrifice material wealth for the betterment of our children and for who they grow up to be as adults........so far so good, no bad apples! So, for me personally, I observe this topic from a kind of, well I guess you'd say a minority perspective! My wife and I have and continue to do to this day, is to sacrifice things for ourselves for, in our own way, our children! We both work together in raising our family, we both work together in resolving matters pertaining to us and the kids!

The Elites/Illuminatti sure are having a field day tearing families apart...have been for quite some time now!
I know I never grew up knowing what a real family was like...so I went and hung out with other people's families...so I could learn!
Too many have grown up like me ( I'm 44 too)..children of multiple divorces, revolving door of people coming in and leaving our lives.
We never got to see first hand how it is that couples resolve differances, and manage to stay together, and continue to love each other.

Re: Male egos, and strong, independant women...
My 50 year old female friend is marrying a 27 yo and he worships her.

That will not last, long term.

You can bet the farm on it.

I do believe he worships her as a mommy figure. Lots of issues going on there.
