You missed the picture of TIME.
The SUN is the center point, and the master TIME keeper. Easiest visual is to think of an old electrical timer spinning on the center pin(SUN). The disk would represent the Milky very well. As you pass around the SUN completing a revolution, you age ONE year. Mars is closest to the pin, so less TIME is needed to complete its ONE year cycle. We on earth take 365 days to make a year, Mars much less.
Given a set number of years for this shell of say 100 yrs and given a choice of where to live on that TIME clock disk, which would you choose? The one closest to the SUN = less days, faster years, die old faster. Or one on the outer edge if you could farther away with more days for those same given SET 100 yrs. I choose as far as possible and right now Earth is best we can do.
So if it took me 3,600 of your years here on earth to complete only ONE cycle for me, ONE TIME around the SUN (The Master TIME Keeper) or ONE year for me,.... I present you with Ever Lasting Life. It would be heaven, ascension, enlightenment, and ever lasting life.

The SUN is the galactic TIME keeper of our galaxy.

Actually, it is more like the local space time giver, per se.

The milky way galaxy contains 100,000,000,000 stars that we can see, and thats not counting the stars that exist just out of the visable light spectrum. Our sun has very little, if any, influance on a galactic scale.
